Retaliation: Path of War is a new and original hex-and-counter turn based wargame. It has been designed and developed with the main purpose of offering a fun and easy to learn wargame, without the complexity and hyper realism of traditional simulation wargames while at the same time keeping all the interesting and challenging elements of tactical reasoning. Have you enjoyed playing many matches of Riskā„¢ with your friends but often felt limited by its simplicity and yearned for something more? Have you been engaged in realistic battle simulations lasting several hours (or days!) and wished you could just get to the point and vanquish your enemies? Then you've come to the right place: whether you are a seasoned strategist or a casual gamer, you will love crushing tanks and conquering bases in Retaliation!

We are happy to announce the introduction of a new gameplay mode to "Retaliation: Path of War", codenamed "no luck". Although Retaliation has been designed to include the component of uncertainty (we believe that in battles, as in life, the outcome is never certain), since the earliest development stages we saw the opportunity to include a variant where all results would be deterministic, removing the element of "chance" from the game.

We are presently testing its first implementation and will be soon releasing a version where this gameplay mode can be activated.
Users' feedback showed us that there is interest for such a game mode, which will make Retaliation play more similar to a game like chess, where players can look ahead several turns, comparing tactical positions in their minds to choose not the most "probable" winning strategy but the "best thought out one".
It will hence soon be possible to play Retaliation in four very different modes: classic boardgame style, videogamer mode (faster and smoother), arcade mode (good aim and reflexes combat outcomes) and no-luck (deterministic).
