In the future, some time after the success of ADMX, the full nature of dark matter is finally understood. Governments, corporations and criminals have begun to harness the benefits of this discovery. From generating electricity to the creation of designer drugs, the power of dark matter axions is harnessed in many ways. The effects of this time period are disasterous. Illness, harmful radiation and horrific mutations are widespread. Criminals commonly referred to as "bandits" fight for control of society. The military is downtrodden. The only hope left for humanity lies in the hands of scientists and mercenaries looking to solve the mysteries of the axion. You are one of the few... the remnant... what will become of you? Axion(Remnant Z) is a sandbox/open world shooter with survival / rpg elements. The game is playable in single player and multiplayer over LAN or online.

Axion left early access on Steam in December 2015. I have now made the game available on itch.io as well!

The itch.io version of the game is DRM free and includes it's own content distribution and automatic updates. If a patch is released on Steam, the itch.io version will also detect the update and prompt you to install the latest version which it will then do for you if you choose to update. You will also receive a Steam key with your purchase.

A significant amount of updates have been released for Axion since the game was last updated here on Indie DB. To see a full change log, check out the news page on Steam here:
