What is the state of the game?
The game is now in fully playable, feature-complete Beta! We are now making final design decisions, replacing and polishing placeholder art, as well as editing all writing + story.
What Platforms is it for?
Currently, only a PC release is planned. Will there be more? If it takes off :)
Will it be free?
Yup, the game is free with no DRM! And due to very encouraging feedback we'll also open a pay option with some extras as a Thank You!
Who is developing this game?
Me, with the help of two talented composers, three graphic artists, and a writer, but I am still looking for extra helping hands. So let me know if you'd like to jump onboard and become a part of the team!
When will it be released?
If all goes according to the plan, August 15!

A bit about Jakub...


I am a travelling Cinematographer, Game Programmer and Web Developer currently living in Los Angeles. Aside from hobby game programming since me tweens, I have worked for two years at a small indie studio that published two titles for PCs and consoles. I also have a Masters in Comparative Ethnic Conflict which, as you can see, inspired much of the setting for the game. If you're still curious you can find more details about me here!

I got around to creating a persistent game logic and a basic system for level transitioning. And then I realized I need a save system to preserve the game state, and all hell broke loose. Ok maybe not so dramatic, but as a freeform game where you can go back and forth between scenes, it did pose some interesting questions and challenges. Doing a bit of research I stumbled upon this awesome, free Unity Serializer system, which might just save me a ton of headaches!

As I replied to HooterBabby, we're still contemplating next project, might take a bit of a break from the Postmortem universe for a change. But it's definitely a ripe material for more scenarios, and something we considered from the get go, so might get back to it in the future :)

I played the freeware version and I have to say I was quite surprised. Well written lore explained well to understand, interesting characters that have different views and opinions all with well written characteristics. I think it's good that there isn't a good or bad ending but just a ending.
