How long can you survive the post-apocalyptic wastelands of NEO Scavenger? In the near-future, supernatural activity and human warfare have fragmented mankind into pockets of civilization struggling to survive in wild and dangerous lands. You awaken alone in an abandoned facility with no food nor water, and only a hospital gown and some mysterious items as clues to your identity. NEO Scavenger is a game where you must survive in the wasteland long enough to figure out who you are. Each turn you must decide where to go, how to scavenge for supplies, and how to deal with anything and anyone you encounter. And with each passing minute, the pit in your stomach grows, your dehydration worsens, your muscles tire, and your body temperature drops in the cold autumn air. Choose your starting abilities carefully, because they and your wit are the only tools you have in the apocalypse!

The game looks pretty interesting but the demo for Macs does not work on my box (iMac 2011, OSX 10.8.1). It says after unzipping and starting: "“NEOScavenger_demo” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash."

Any ideas?

Hey Cantello,

I just re-downloaded the Mac demo from the Desura website using a MacBook Pro 2008 running OSX 10.7. I was able to unzip and run it, so I don't think the file is damaged.

If you try downloading the version at Blue Bottle Games, is it any better? (There's also a Flash version on the website, if all else fails.)

Also, LeJay is a user who setup a Mac bug reporting thread at Blue Bottle Games. He was able to get it running, though found an error while playing. If the BBG download doesn't work, you might try posting in that thread to see if any Mac users there are having the same issue (or have a solution).

I'm pretty new to the Mac platform, so I'm still learning :)
