This game is looking better and better, man. Very nice. The swords look like GREAT additions, same for the rockets (yeah they're not know, but I didn't notice them before).

Hey there! Here's a new video of the latest additions to the game.

First off, there's the new background effect, which I don't have much to say about other than that (I hope) it looks cool.

I've added two enemy types to the game. The first is the plasma sword, which I've had working since very early on. However, it's been tweaked a fair amount to be more balanced and to look nicer. When it hits something, it retracts for a little while to charge. It's quite fun to use.

The second new enemy is the arc coil, which charges for a bit and then automatically releases a shock to any nearby enemies. The trick to defeating them is to either hit them with a close-up attack while they're charging, or to pick them off with a long-range assault. I think I've gotten them to feel fairly meaty, which I'm happy about.

I've also tweaked the actual attaching mechanic a little: instead of having to ram directly into the enemies, which was kind of finicky and annoying, they'll automatically be grabbed when they're within a small radius of your ship. To make it look a little nicer, I put a small electrical arc effect leading to each attachment, too. Now it feels really nice and swishy when you pick them up, and also leads to some cool sword-swinging action, which you can see in the video.
