Description

The HUD name for the glowing tile hint is Greek. Psalm 119:105 in the Bible is the famous, "Your word [Lord] is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path." In trying to find the most interesting word(s) that summed up the hint ability and also highlighted the main point of the verse, I chose Greek words "lexifos", which is a combining "lexi" (word) and "fos" (light). God's WORD is our LIGHT. Though I'm not sure if that's proper Greek to combine the words thus. LOL

Likewise, the dimly-lit screen flash hint, Elampse, stems from the word "flashed" as found in the Bible when Jesus appears to Saul of Tarsus just prior to the conversion of Saul (later Paul). Acts 9:3 reads, "As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him." The flash, of course, being Jesus in His more-than-just-human state.

While any Biblical references in the actual game will be subtle as to be inconspicuous, I wanted to give elements of the game more than mere generic names. Initially, the hints were titled "Tile Glow" and "Maze Flash". Clear descriptions of what they are, but, frankly, I felt they were dull. "Lexifos" and "Elampse" sound more mysterious at first glance, and lends well, I think, to the mystery of the game setting, so I hope.
