A technical demonstration of realistic liquid simulation for Minecraft, Liquid Cubed is a WIP project where you can build dams, pump water, drain lakes, and otherwise experiment with the liquid system within the building area. ------- The algorithm used for the liquid simulation was developed over two years by in a modified version of Infiniminer. After Minecraft's wild success, we thought it was about time we built a standalone "proof-of-concept" in the hope that the algorithm could be integrated within Minecraft, but unfortunately more work will have to be done before this can become a reality.

Hi there, please confirm that you have the following installed:
TO CHECK FOR MICROSOFT XNA 3.1 FRAMEWORK 1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs TO CHECK FOR MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 SP1 1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs TO CHECK FOR DIRECTX: 1. Go to Start > Run If you've confirmed these are installed and are still having trouble, please click on the "Save All Information" button inside the DIrectX Diagnostics window and send us the DxDiag.txt so we can analyze the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience! |

I'll just post here because I have a similar problem. I have all 3 requirements and I checked again to make sure. Nice work btw, is it scalable? Edited by: copyboy |

If the mouse cursor was set to the center of the screen, that does indeed help. Could you try version 1.0.0 (19 mb) to see if it also gives the same error? Oh, and how do you mean, "scalable"? |

Yes, the old version actually works runs. There are still some texture problems. I apparently can't post links because I'm still a new member so I'll try to explain it instead. The left sides of the textures are odd, looks like the texture coordinates for both points are set to 0,0. The game itself looks great. By scalable I meant if it works for very big maps or even "infinite" ones, as in Minecraft. Speaking of which, are you trying to get this into MC? Because I'd love it. EDIT: Sending links over PM works, check your inbox Edited by: copyboy |

We've had another person report the same texture problem as you're describing. Would you mind sending a PM with your DxDiag report so we can compare the machines? We believe we have a fix for the problem but would like to confirm what hardware is causing it. As for being scalable, yes, it's designed to be fully scalable to include Minecraft-sized infini-maps, and yes, we are contacting Markus Persson to see about having the liquid system integrated into Minecraft. Well that's good to know! This weekend we're going to have to see why the warning screen doesn't pop-up for when you don't have XNA 3.1 installed. |

When I open example map, liquid cubed crashes. I think, this is because the save format has been changed since they were made. |

@DiEvAl We'll look into this! Update: In regards to the crashes, Liquid Cubed 1.0.4 on up will display messages in the event that specific dependencies were missing. The Legacy ATI display issue we haven't had time to reverse engineer yet, but it's still on the todo list. If it's important to you, let us know and we'll make this a greater priority! |
