Gang Beasts


Gang Beasts is a silly local multiplayer party game with doughy ragdoll physics and horrific environmental hazards. In the current pre-alpha players can grab, push, pull, punch, and throw their friends from wrestling rings, speeding trucks, and suspended platforms.

Gang Beasts supports mouse, keyboard, and game controllers as inputs, to map the inputs press the 'Tab' key in game or click the large oscillating yellow text that reads "PRESS TAB TO REMAP CONTROLS" on the game menu.

We have been working to get the next build of Gang Beasts made for release on Steam Early Access, we wanted to do this for the end of July but there is still additional work we need to do on the game and the Steam page before we can publish the next build of the game. We have had several meetings in the last few days to review the progress made on the next build (see the current change log below for specific information) and spoken with our partners and have set the official release date for Early Access as the 29th August.

We understand that the people that have read the various comments we've made about our plans to try to get the next build of the game finished before August will be disappointed that we haven't been able to, but it is important that the key character features (climbing, kicking, and stomping) are fully implemented, balanced, and stable for the new stages and environments to work.

We have posted more information about the next build for those that want to read specific information on the modifications we've made to the character and games systems to date (see Steamcommunity.com).

Well it looked promising but -
It went Steam too early and now the price grabs more attention than the game
The concept is unoriginal considering that is has very small sandbox content
Another full-unity game, unity is a dying platform

Unless Steam does something about the price, cause let's face it, sandbox is already the most infested category in Steam, and unless it will be modelled on C++ or anything else, I'd play Unturned before it.

We're excited for Timeline and Cinemachine in Unity 2017.1, The price of Gang Beasts on Steam was set to at $20 to subsidise support, development, and hosting costs for the 8 player online multiplayer component of the game (we want to support the online component of the game for multiple years post launch as we have multiple free post launch updates planned including specific sandbox content), we don't plan to increase the price at launch (unless Steam globally adjusts pricing for inflation), the price is set by Boneloaf in consultation with partners; we did consider selling a lower priced offline only version (like the local only DRM free Humble builds but on Steam) but rejected that as it would have caused confusion for an Early Access game to have tiered pricing. We needed to optimise the character and scheme geometry and physics to add more sandbox content, we are close to completing that work (see Youtu.be for a comparison). Current public builds of Gang Beasts are made with Unity 5.6 and C#.

Is gang beasts available for xbox one?

Gang Beasts can't release for console platforms until the launch content for the game is finished and the game is passed for release for specific hardware, we're getting close to this stage currently for the PS4 release but can't officially announce an Xbox One / Xbox One X release date at the time of writing (but want to release the game for Xbox if we can).
