The minimap appeared quite late in the MMORPGs but it never disappeared since then.
For Founder : Sons of Hyrmalion we tried to keep the practical side of the minimap, therfore we chose a quite minimalist design to begin with.
In the future, we will make available several customization options for the minimap display.
This sober design is nevertheless quite appropriate for the common use of a minimap : to guide yourself!
It looks awesome, very nice style and appropriate as you stated, every good MMORPG needs a mini-map! :D
