This update includes 18 new fixes and improvements. Instructions: Extract, then CD to the extracted directory and run "./cypress.bin". (You will need to have installed SDL, SDL-IMAGE, SDL-GFX, SDL-TTF, and SDL-MIXER. Some Linux users may get an error message about not being able to load SDL-GFX. If this happens, try choosing the CONTINUE option. I am working on a fix.) If you still have trouble getting Cypress to run on Linux, try running the Windows version under Wine.
What's new in Cypress 1.2?
- The current objective is now displayed on the map screen.
- Fixed regression that caused some missing animations.
- Fixed map sector label rendering bug.
- Geoffrey now begins the game with a supply of firewood.
- Overfull containers now show a message in the browser when items are hidden.
- Geoffrey will no longer browse remains while still in combat. This prevents opening an unwanted browser scroll while clicking an enemy that just died.
- Waypoints are now marked with "w" instead of an asterisk.
- The Attack, Defense, and Resistance stats are now documented in the Adventurer's Guide.
- The wizard ruins are no longer revealed as such on the map.
- A bug with the Seance spell was fixed.
- Geoffrey now accepts most objects by default, even if his top-level inventory is full. If this happens, the aforementioned hidden-items message shows. (This takes care of the last issues with objects dropping behind scrolls.)
- A compass rose has been added to the map screen.
- Geoffrey now barks when he can't reach something.
- The map screen help text is now more helpful.
- Fixed a bug where the hamlet stairwell would "fall" underneath the ruins and become inaccessible.
- The magic tent is no longer a container. This fixed an issue where you couldn't camp because the wood was inside the tent.
- The spell book no longer accepts items.
- Music triggers slightly more often.
