This is an important bugfix release for "The Testament of the White Cypress."
"Cypress" is a fantasy adventure game for your Windows, Mac, or Linux PC. Using the mouse and keyboard, a single player controls a lone monk named Geoffrey as he travels through a post-apocalyptic wilderness. Gameplay involves navigating the landscape, ranged combat with bow-and-arrow, management of food and shelter, NPC conversations, item crafting, and several different magical powers. (A USB Mouse is strongly recommended.)
I'm so pleased to announce the official release of my hand-painted indie adventure, "The Testament of the White Cypress" for Windows, Mac, and Linux. I want to thank everyone here at IndieDB, on IRC, and elsewhere so much for their feedback, bug reporting, and suggestions. The game couldn't have been finished without you, and I salute your enthusiasm, creativity, and friendship! You can get version 2.1 with the links below. While the approximately 450MB file is downloading, we've got three cool HD videos for you: a complete tutorial video covering the first mission, an HD capture of the new in-game opening movie, and of course a nice trailer! (Be sure to press HD for best quality, and due to text size I recommend going full-screen.)
First up is the tutorial video. You can use this if you have trouble figuring out the first minutes of the game. (I'm working to improve this aspect of the game, but you might find the video useful in the meantime.)
Next up is the in-engine opening movie! This brief (~2 min) video introduces the world of Cypress and sets the stage for Geoffrey's arrival in the first scene. The separate layers were painted in acrylic first, and then scanned and animated via the cypress game engine.
And finally, the trailer!
