Don't Kill Her is designed in a very particular way. The further you go, the deeper you'll dive into something you wouldn't have expected. "No choice is given, but the rest belongs to us."

Post news Report RSS Music, GDC and burrowed crows.

Update needed, so here it is. The development is still going great, but as usual, I can't tell a lot about it. Let's focus on music, Game Developer Conference in San Francisco, and some screenshots.

Hello murders !

First question I should probably respond to, is : WHY DOES IT TAKE SO DAMN FUCKING LONG ???!!
It's all about monney, life events and most of all, creating the best game I can do. Lately, I've been redesigning some earlier levels of the game, to make them seem more alive. I've really got intentions, I don't want Don't Kill Her to be just a game the player can beat. There's something different I'm trying to achieve, that's why it takes a lot of time.

Music

But lately, the developement reached a whole new level. Siddharta Barnhorn contacted me. He's a really talented and passionnated composer. He has been working on Antichamber, and Out There, among a lot of other movies related works. The point is, we've been talking a lot, about the game and he really enjoys what I'm trying to build. So, now Siddharta is part of the adventure !
I've been adding some of his early work into the game, and I have to say, I'm very excited about it. For the first time, I was able to feel what I really wanted to feel when playing the game. It seems like the world is becoming alive, in the tone and respect of the ambiant I hardly want to build.

Here's an early audio sketch. Keep in mind that it doesn't reflect the whole music work we're trying to implement into the game. We don't want it to be linear, like a single song looping in the background. We're now trying to adjust music to the events encountered during the game. Let's say, it's all about layers.

In the real life

Last but not least, Don't Kill Her is going to the Game Developer Conference in San Francisco ! Thanks to an amazing proposition I got from a swiss Delegation, we'll be able to share Don't Kill Her through a booth where interested players will be able to play a short demo. So, if you're around, come ! We'll be in the North Hall GDC play, booth number : PL120.

Great games take time :)

One of the weirdest and best looking games I have seen for a long while !

Love the ambience and art style you have going here.
