My name is Alicia, I have been living here for a year now, I grew up in Culiacán I decided to move here to japan last year to become a journalist. My first assignment was to do a article on a house where a mass suicide occurred. I witnessed what I believe to be the remaining spirits in that house as well as other demonic beings. The Images haunt me still and I am afraid to leave my own home anymore.
Despair follows the story of a journalist name Alicia who is haunted by the spirits of a mass suicide.
Soon after she becomes a shut-in, afraid to leave her own home she is fired from her job.
Haunted in both her dreams and her house she attempts to find the true story behind the house of suicide. In her dreams she is taken to to the building witnessing past events that have taken place.
when a chapter takes place a room will be opened to a different area, when the chapter is finished she wakes up in her bed.
This is a rough draft only and Will change over time.
I've been working hard on modeling the characters the past few weeks. I've also been thinking a lot about game play, what we know already is that each chapter in the game is activated by entering a room in the house. Example opening the guest room door could lead to chapter one, once completed the character wakes up able to start the next. Chapter being key points in the past having to do with the mass suicides that have taken place in the residence of a house for many years. Who are the enemies? ghosts evil spirits, the way to fight them is what I have been thinking most about. when thinking of a weapon to use on a spirit its hard to come up with a particle device. I decided to take a Alan wake approach using just flashlights. The player will use only a flashlight to fight back, having to point it at the spirit as it gains ground on you. The closer the spirit gets the harder it is to aim making the character weak. This is the basic Idea of game play the team has been throwing around we will improve on the idea much more in the future of course, but for now it serves as a guideline on where we wanna take the game play aspect.
I'll now give a little more Background on the characters
Alicia- The main character, Is a journalist who moved to japan. She has currently shut herself in her home after witnessing a horrific event that haunts her. afraid to leave her house she relies on her boyfriend to take care of her. Soon after she begins revealing what happened in the house the mass suicides took place in. In her dreams and visions the story unravels.
Sato- Alicia's boyfriend. Sato met Alicia shortly after she moved to japan, they built a bond quickly.
Sato helps alicia out with her problem, he brings food to her, not knowing exactly what is troubling her sato has a hard time comforting alicia as she spirals downward in depression.
