Well closed testing is finally coming to a close as we open the doors to everyone with the release of v0.51 of Broke Protocol.
Windows Game Client (and Server)
I’m excited to see how it plays out on full servers but please be aware the game is still in alpha state and will improve much further in the future.
Please leave feedback, suggestions and bug reports in the forum. Also feel free to create media content about the game on Youtube etc. and monetize on it if you wish. I won’t go dick-mode Nintendo on you.
This release includes the client for Windows as well as servers for Linux and Windows… Please. please, please help run some servers if you can… Memory footprint is tiny at around 250mb and the Net protocol has been optimized. All you need to do is open port 5555 on your server and go.
Changes from the internal version 0.50 includes:
-Better initial NPC waypoint finding
-Fixed race condition on player trading that would lock both players
-Lower police spawn rates and reduced their xX420Xx noscope accuracy.
-AI correctly receive crimes for drug and weapon possession
-Stability fixes and cheat detection
-Fixed wrong drug processing inputs and outputs
-Lowered overall criminal record expiration time
-Enabled clouds again
-Mouse focus issues on disconnects
-Using different network channels for optimization
I admit the game is not so self-explanatory but I will make a beginners guide covering the basics. Until then, enjoy the alpha and spread the word to those who might be interested.
