'Arania - Forgotten Lands' is an upcoming RPG being developed by Infinitus Designs. The game revolves around an entire continent called Arania that has not been seen by the known world for centuries after a supposed natural disaster tore the the two continents, Pasloan and Arania, apart from each other, leaving a treacherous sea between them that no one has successfully crossed...Until you show up! You are exiled from Pasloan after joining the rebels in a failed revolution to overthrow the continent-wide rulers. You are stripped of all your possessions and given a small boat and you are forced to sail for the horizon. But no one can survive the stormy seas between the continents and you encounter a vicious storm and by some miracle end up washed up on a beach. From there your new life begins In Arania...The Forgotten Lands.
Arania - Forgotten Lands revolves around bringing back 2D RPG, allowing players to immerse themselves in the classic ways all over again.

Changes made in v1.1
- Quest "The King's Mercenary" can now be completed
- Port Skye Inn,Bank, and Weaponshop are all working now (dockers houses aren't implemented yet)
- The boat now works on light-coloured water (not the open sea that is a lot darker)
- Location added: "The Abandoned Tower"
- Enemies added: "Bandit" and "Bandit Leader"
- Experience requirements per level have been changed dramatically so that after the first few levels, the game becomes quite hard to level up in.
- Set max level to Lv98
- Gold rewards from creatures were tweaked to not give as much gold (they were too generous)
- at Port Skye Inn you can now go upstairs and sleep in a bed, it will cost you 25g and will cure poison and fully restore health and mana.
Known Bugs
Certain roofing and wall materials are traversable and allow the player to walk over roofs etc. (will be fixed in 1.2)
If you exit the boat onto Port Skye you will transport into Port Skye and the boat will be stuck on the right-hand side of port skye where there is no hope of retrieving it (Will be fixed in 1.2)

Should I specify the path to RGSS202E.dll somehow?
Upon further checking, from the RPG Maker Link I obtained: RPG MAKER VX Ace Runtime Package Ver. 1.00
I'm guessing that I need to download the trial version of RPG Maker itself, because the runtime doesn't include the dll file mentioned..
you shouldn't have to. I tested it on my a PC with only the files I included in the download. it worked fine.
I have now installed the RPG Maker Trial and your game still returns the same error when I execute it.
Downloaded both the game and RPG Maker from the links provided.
Installed RPG Maker to the default location in Common Files.
Ran Game.exe from the Arania Folder and got: "RGSS202E.dll could not be found".
Maybe it would be better if you didn't require 3rd-party software to run the game..
Note: the game does not even play.
