The Second Antarean War is a multiplayer team-based real time strategic battle simulator. It simulates battle between spaceships in fully accessible 3d space. As an admiral, you can call in different types of ships for different situations. The game aims to be played against other people, not the game itself. The 3d navigation, order queues, smart orders and no limits on build queues aim to hide the visible user interface completely and allow you to focus on the battle at hand. You can join any battle in progress at any time. Some battles start small and grow in player size and in their importance to universal scale. The universe is persistent. Each battle has an impact on how well your faction does. Winning battles progresses the war and earns you medals, rank and respect from people you play with and strikes fear into players you fight against. Good hunting.
This is a really old aff concept by orbluvion. The AFF style has changed alot scene then.
But that's still damn awesome. Wow. I love the lighting and detail. It always amazing me. I'm rubbish at designing new kinds of spaceships when I want to, and I always end up thinking everything that's possible to be designed has been, then AFF shows up with something new.
Yeah i am amazed as well by quality of our Art team. Past and present.

There are some things that I think should be taken from this (and other?) old pieces of concept art. Primarily, the greebles. I think all of the AFF ships would benefit from more greebling between their armoring. However, I would assume that greebles have been phased out because they suck up lots of polygons and more textures, so if it's for the sake of performance, then I understand why the new styles of ships are the way they are.
We still have tons of greebles they are just more in texture now - maybe look flatter.
