Alien Arena is an open sourced game that combines a sci-fi atmosphere with the tournament style deathmatch of Q3A and UT2k4. Major graphical features such as GLSL per-pixel lighting, ragdoll physics, light blooms, real time lights and shadows, textured particles, shaders, and reflective water, create a colorful and immersive deathmatch atmosphere. The game also includes mutators, adjustable effects, bot skill settings, and fully configurable deathmatch, team deathmatch, CTF, All Out Assault, Team Core Assault, Cattle Prod, and Deathball games. The game features original artwork, with a dark, sinister atmosphere combined with an off-the-wall campiness, and trippy, techno type music. There are currently over 60 maps, loaded with weapons(each having an alternate firing mode) and powerups. Alien Arena has fast, smooth gameplay, & players can play online against one another or against the bots. Please post all support issues in the forums for the game.

Alien Arena 2010 version 7.45 has been released today! The latest version of the game features a number of new features and optimizations that not only make it look better, but run a lot smoother as well.
The big news for this release is the change in model format from vertex animated to a new skeletal model format known as the InterQuake Model. Each of our player models has been re-animated and exported to this format, resulting in much smoother animation, and a perfectly solid appearance. The use of the skeletal system allowed us to also do some animation tricks on the fly, such as bending the spine at the waist for player pitch(looking up and down).
There were many other new things added as well, as this was one of our most intense development sessions in the history of the game. Perhaps just as important as the change in model format, were some of the bugfixes and optimizations that resulted in vastly better framerates, as well as much smoother, more accurate lighting. Here are some of the highlights:

I like it :D
Hahaha. Don't think I didn't see that UT3 map remake :P
UT3? That stage was in UT04 as well, and possibly UT03 and the original UT:P
It's not really a remake. Just one room that kind of has the same theme as a UT3 map.
Good job man ! I have been playing it for a bit and it's really fun. keep it up !
Thanks, and we will definitely keep it up. Our dev pace continues to be torrid as always. There's alot planned for the future, we aren't going away any time soon that is for sure!
