How about giving updates for blogs? Thread

Well, the name pretty-well tells it all. I personally think that this is far overdue - I mean, it would be nice to know when friends make a new blog post...

I second the motion.

Obviously I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but it seems to me that if we get update with articles from groups, it would make sense to be updated by blogs as well.

Just my two cents. Also, I do realize that Desura does something similar, but on a community wide scale.

The feature has already been implemented for a very long time now. If you "Track Member" then you will be updated on anything they post.

Nope, you dont get blog updates, try testing it out with a friend sometime. Tracking the member doesn't track their blog - for some reason that is.

I've had the same problem myself as have several of my trackers. So if it is implemented, it's either broken or simply not working for us (is that the same thing?).

Trust me, I've been tracking several people, and I never see their blogs.

Hm... I've noticed that, too... I wonder if something possible broke when I asked Henley to alter the behavior of private blogs being listed on Desura Community Page?

I'll tell you something strange; I recently got an update from one of the users I'm tracking, and it was an article that they posted back in 2009, so it does work.

There is a lot of content on peoples profile's that I miss out on reading, sometimes I get updates sometimes I don't, so it must be glitch.

suppose to work and so it stopped... otherwise it would be nice.

Well, TBH - I have never gotten updates for a blog, so i didnt even know it ever worked xD

I don't ever get blog updates either, so I think it'd be nice if I did ;D

Never seen an issue with it. The tracking options is for site updates, not blogs.

Hmm, but wouldn't it make sense, if we get updated by the media of users, that the blogs would be updated as well? I mean, articles and such kinda act as blogs for games and mods and we get updated with those, but why not blogs?

I see no reason to ostracize (holycrap, achievement unlock -- I actually spelled that right on the first try) the blogs, so it if it isn't that much trouble, can updates be made to include blog updates?

No problem. If it weren't for blogging on ModDB, I wouldn't have the outlet for my writing that I have here.

You guys do know that tracking other users will tell you if they have posted a blog right?

I have been tracking arcones for quite a while and never get an update for his blog

I never seem to get blog updates, either.

Same here. Blog updates not showing on the Updates page at all. For quite some time now... they were shown there, once. A LONG TIME AGO. IIRC.
