Hello, my name is Allen Grippin. I'm a jack-of-all-trades artist who can perform a variety of tasks and am intimate with game development and optimization. I'm looking for paid work to supplement my income. Below are some links to my galleries:

My goal is to make stuff that can only be rated on a scale from Awesome to Truly Bad Ass. My goal is perfection, an endless quest for the artist. I want to create art that makes people stop and look. I love what I do and do it for its own sake. I also desire to meet other artists in the field and learn new skills & methods from them. I am always learning and always looking for new techniques to add to my arsenal.

3D ART

  • Advanced line art skills.
  • Advanced sculpting skills in Zbrush and Mudbox.
  • Advanced box modeling skills using Blender.
  • Experience in creating realistic clothing for characters in Marvelous Designer.
  • Advanced knowledge of optimal/proper topology for both static meshes and animation.
  • Knowledge and experience in rigging and animation practices (both Maya and Blender).
  • Photoshop skills; in-depth knowledge of digital art and texture optimization for games.
  • Advanced procedural texturing skills in Substance Designer and Substance Painter.
  • Knowledge and experience in PBR workflows (both metallic and specular).
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in optimal UV mapping for hard-surface and organic meshes.

Other Pertinent Skills

  • Basic programming skills for understanding the needs of programmers in asset creation.
  • Knowledge of constructive anatomy for creating detailed creatures and characters.
  • Knowledge of martial arts assists in creating dynamic characters with proper motion/topology in mind.

Experience


My primary experience with game art has been working in Unity and UE4 in Indie groups, and building assets for both, which I sell on various asset stores.

I have won a place in two contests hosted by Allegorithmic and one on Sketchfab, and been featured on Polycount multiple times. I am also featured in art galleries by Allegorithmic and an art spotlight on sketchfab.
