Yeah, if the demand is there then why not? Though I'm sure you run the risk of oversaturation/IP fatigue, but when has that stopped folks in the past (I'm looking at you both, "Sims" and "Guitar Hero") >|
If it could stand on its own, then yes.
I wanted to vote Yes and No, but others would be allowed to make them but it didn't let me. I'm big on open source. But I wouldn't say no to a fan game. :)
