If you have ever felt as if all your work you have had to get to where you are lacked a sense of home, then this game could resonate with you!
Find your way through the pieces of a certain Viking's past in this top-down puzzle story, where in each level you will be able to arrange a series of components in order to remember your homeland's melodies.
In Yggdrasil you play as a witty Viking seeking to recount memories of their homeland, while they follow their mighty raid chief on a quest for new lands, which may or may not lead you to your presumably ultimate goal of attaining a place in Valhalla.

This week on Yggdrasil development
This week our team has made huge progress! Although the game designing was still in progress along with the developing and art, we managed to create all the needed sprites and backgrounds, and have completed the programming of the game in GB studio, finishing our game this week, with possible updates in the upcoming days.
In terms of Game design, we have achieved our initial vision of musical puzzles, which we have described as Simon like. And although the final destination of the game was a bit blurry at first, we believe we have captured the intent of the game with it.
With all the thinking, we updated our narrative structure, to encompass which lyrics and riff the level had to do with, leaving the table that we showed you last week to be like this:
So there you have a cheat code as well.
The sequence was based on each main riff, each number representing a different note on guitar tabs.
In terms of story, the gameplay begins on the Vicking’s boat, where the chief requests that the player catch some fish for lunch. When we complete the puzzle assigned to this level, we are allowed to open a chest which ultimately reminds us of the different temperatures of our land.
After that, we arrive on land, and the second puzzle begins after we are told by the chief to get dinner, which once again ends up with us completing another level, and receiving some healing herbs.
After this, our return to camp is interrupted by the screams of our friends, Vicki and Harald, who had been fighting off a raid at our camp. When we arrive, already on level 2, our friends are injured, and we use the previously acquired items to heal them. The chief promptly arrives and tells us that he had found a village, whose villagers might help us.
After following the chief to the destination, we are met with strange looking people, and once again the chief tells us to fetch something. After discovering the intended objects, piles of wood, and figuring out the puzzle, the wind compels us to follow it to the top of a hill.
There we have a realization that home is never far away, and the game ends.
For art, as stated, everything is finished, including the Game menu! Which we talked about last week!
We started by working on the menu and other essential UI for the game, and then moved on right away to the level art, each submission a day of the week, according to the levels, even if we hadn't finished some of the interfaces, so as to not slow down the work of the developer, whose submissions where all one day after to the artist.
Here we have some of the works(Main Menu and Splash Screen).
Finally, everything seems in order, but if we find any bugs we will fix them as soon as possible!
Just played this game! Overall a very nice experience. All the art was pretty and helped make the atmosphere of the game more complete. The story was also fun and exploring the map was rewarding. Congrats on such a good game!
Thank you for playing our game! We hope you had a good time!
fantastic work! If you need music for the gameplay or to promote the game (trailer), let me know.🤗👌🏻😁🎮🤗🎶
