Welcome to this week's devlog for Assembly RTS, the physics-based real-time strategy game!
Hey everyone, I've been making steady progress this week 💪
Replay System
As I mentioned in my last devlog, the replay system will be an essential tool to create a teaser trailer for Assembly RTS- It's now in working order, including the option to slow down / speed up playback speed!
I bet this feature will make for amazing scenes once projectiles are flying all over the place! 👀
There is an essential part missing still- A cinematic camera system to get those smooth, fly-through shots of the action unfolding! But that's a task for another day... 🛌
Placing down buildings
In addition to finishing up the first version of the replay system and making some adjustments to my custom input system I finally implemented the ability to place buildings!
In the future this should also flatten the terrain beneath the building- Yet another task for future me 🙂
Upcoming Features
Next up, I'll make it possible for vehicles to shoot each other!
I'll possibly set up a more optimized visual effects system alongside this as well.
Afterwards, I'll add more vehicles to the game including the ability to build / train them from a factory.
