Early Access on Steam is going to happen on January 7 and we are really excited about that. The price will be 0.99$.
So let's talk about our choices.
Why the early access?
Early Access is for us a great way to integrate more people in the development.
You can already play the game, watch the screensaver, find some bugs ( we hope not, really :) ) and make suggestions for changes or improvements.
We also need more time to do some polishing ( and we need feedback to decide what we should work on ).
We really think we can make a better screensaver game with our community support.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
We want the game bug free and polished, so we planned to release on Q1 2020.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
First of all we need to check for bugs and do some polishing before the release date.
We planned to add more assets with periodic updates: more tools and buildings together with new sketches that will be visible in the screensaver.
We also ask our community to give us feedback and make suggestions in order to enhance the gameplay and also add new features ( for example random events in the game world ).
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
Chico is fully playable in the current state and quite stable with the most important features have already been implemented.
You can craft tools and create different buildings ( hut, storage, ecc. ) and other stuffs ( like the campfire ) and you can see your character hanging around in the screensaver.
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
The game will be enhanced over time and the price increased accordingly.
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
They could make suggestions in the Steam community hub and we would
try to bring all good ideas to game.
So what else... ready to play Chico???
