I have spent thousands of hours on ghostship unpaid, and all i ask is that you give me 2 minutes in return by leaving some feedback on your review!

Our crowd funding campaign is in its last 2 weeks! If you want this game! Do something about it!

Ghostship on IndieGoGo

There are still a few bugs, we need a programmer! then the we can get the remaining bugs addressed and the new mechanics in the game.

This is the last public release, the oculus rift version, the alpha .41 and the Beta`s are only available to those who have helped support development, keep an eye on the members page for updates!

Have fun with the new alpha and as before, feedback is welcomed and will implemented if viable and doable!

Do you have any game-play tips?
I'm having a hard time surviving the first few monsters?

DO you mean the leachers? They do very little damage, and you can just run away from them :)

I will be posting some gameplay hints for version .36 later today :)

Congrats to the new demo, good to see some progress made on this.
Also the trailer creates a nice atmosphere especially in the first half.

However, there are some seriouse issues that prevent me (and possibly others too) from enjoying this.

First of all the new Helmet view should be intended to create an even more dense atmosphere, but right now all it creates is motion sickness while it also makes it harder to see the enviroment due to a huge percentage of screen coverage and much to oparc visor.

You should keep the head movement the same as without helmet and have the helmet bobbing just slightly but detatched from the camera.
Maybe a little hud lag would be also possible, so in case of fast head movement (e.g. turning arround) the helmet would be just a tiny bit behind that movement.
This would also help showing that it's actually a 3D model, not only a 2D image tied to the screen.

The visor should really be altered texture/material wise.
Right now the bright dirt spots become very visible in dark places blocking the sight even more.
You could change the texture to have brighter areas only at the border where the visor meets the helmet and not at the focal point of view.
Maybe it would be also possible to have it react to light sources, so if a player looks into a light the opacity of the dirt layer would increase while when looking into the dark it's very low and doesn't block the view.

Also you might considder changing some gameplay decissions e.g. throwing a horde of enemies at the player right in the first room.

Rather give the player time to adopt to the atmosphere first and figure out where to go.
Once the game built up an atmosphere of isolation, introduce the first enemy (also note the singular).

Once this initial challenge is passed, the player is ready for more, like fighting two of the creatures at the same time.

Hi glad you are enjoying the demo. Like i have stated numerous times, we need a programmer, the helmet view is as far as i have managed to get and much more needs to be done. The shake will be perfected when we have a programmer so will the other thing such as health display and stamina etc.

The story mode is much easier and there are nmo enemies in the first room. The aliens behind the door can get through closed doors because of the AI issues we have and with no programmer to fix the bugs and work further on the AI it will take time. In the beta and full release you will have no enemies until you get to the bridge.

Did you play the new alpha by the way (0.36) ?

ofc. i'm talking about the alpha 0.36, afaik the previouse ones had no helmet view.

(Good) programmers are always hard to find and one with AI experience is very rare.

Yeah lol, need some sleep.

Just a programmer is hard to find on zero budget, never mind a good one. We are currently looking at other sources of funding and a lot is going to change with ghostship so keep watch :)
