A little about... Dave-Man A game about getting your coffee at work before annoying coworkers catch you!

Posted by on

With hoping to launch a KickStarter by the end of the week I'm shoring up the "About" or "Description" of the game. I tried to keep it brief and have visuals for each step to keep it interesting.

Would love to hear what you think as I plan to use something like this on the KickStarter page!

note: KickStarter's goal is a modest $150 with my rationality being if it has popular demand to cover the Steam fee I will sell it there, if not I will sell on Itch.

Dave getting caught

Dave’s counting down to retirement, as you will see his wife reminding him.

Wife talking about retirement

To fully enjoy his retirement, Dave must make as much money as possible in his remaining days. He can then use this money to purchase items to entertain him (and you) on his home computer.

Dave’s job is compensation based pay—meaning you only get paid if you do a good job! This normally wouldn’t worry Dave…

...unless Dave doesn’t get his coffee!

Risk vs Reward: Choose your level each morning. As payouts increase, so does difficulty.

You will just have to wait for the final game to see!

What I left out from the above is the core of the gameplay: How Dave must get his coffee!

With Pac-Man inspired gameplay, Dave must collect all of the coffee beans in the level and make his way back to the coffee maker without getting caught by "Chatty Cathy".

Successfully achieving this task gives Dave a pay day!

Failure to do so pays nothing!

Here is a clip of the gameplay, where I take on 3 Chatty Cathies:

I've been following this game.

I really love the concept.

It's an interesting take on the classic pac-man.

It would be great if Dave would not only fetch coffees but other stuff as well.

Say an item capable of granting him extra life or anything creative.

And yeah, awesome work!
