Thanks Crateboy! I was lucky in that when I just started trying Unity (v4.5 i think), it had added new features which supported 2D sprites and stuff!

I heard that before that you had to depend on a lot of 3rd party plugins for that which might make it messy though.

hey thanks for the tip! I think my focus now is on the random placement of the platforms as each platform has to not collide with another and it must be reachable from another.
