A paid membership with little to no ads is a better idea. Make it affordable. Anyone developing video games should have a few dollars set aside for supporting other indies, including sites like indiedb!

Same here. I make games for me and if others enjoy them then that's fantastic. Besides, once the whole planet is online and empowered with the right tools to create anything they can imagine, the lines between official studios and home-based collaborative works will blur.

It's an incredible amount of work and I like to work alone, but no man/woman/hermaphrodite is an island. It takes a lot to do everything on your own, and I am learning to find the right help where I need it. It's amazing how much more you can accomplish when working with others who are as passionate about making games as you are. My dream-team? 1 amazing artist, 1 genius coder, and myself to direct it all and dream-up the world/story/characters and write it all into a great story to carry all that art and code to the finish!
