Doomer - by all means. I have some solid level of knowledge related to classic firearms and military technology (20th century), medium skills in moding of ZDoom (coding, ACS and editing/creating sprites) and entry-level skills in 3D modeling (Blender). You may feel free to use any of my assets on the site as long as you credit me and it doesn't have anything to do with furries. Unfortunately I have far less free time (and creative energies) for moding than desired, but I am always open to neat ideas or requests for minor shared projects as long as I like the core concept and I have the necessary skills to contribute. Please do not ask for porting my Brutal Doom guns to Project Brutality - I'm not interested!

We have a new beta release for Brutal Doom - as probably most of you is already aware of - which is available right here:

The new beta is said to be very close to the gold release therefore I have begin to carefully examine what is going on codewise inside the mod. The situation is "not good, not terrible", however the devs have moved some stuff - like changed a bit the system behind the starting items, which is crucial from the perspective of my addon.

Gonna take a while, to adapt to the new stuff and check for bugs, but I am confident that the whole thing won't take for a long time.

Regarding to features I'm bringing such new guns, such as the MG15, Fedorov Avtomat and some bouncing betties!

Stay tuned and check the new beta!

Today SgtMarkIV has released the latest (semi-open) beta build of Brutal Doom. On the first sight I don't see too much trouble to port the WW2 pack - and my other stuff - to this new version.

Mark has scheduled the gold version to be released in January therefore I also try to aim for his release (+2 weeks at most).

Currently I'm working on some new Arisaka sprites, but the DP28 has been also remade. Also thinking about some more tactical and realistic reloading mechanism for magazine fed rifles to be able to cancel the reloading.

Stay tuned!

SgtMarkIV has announced that we can expect a BD V22 release by the middle of November so here I am also with some news what to be expected for the - presumably - last update beyond the basic compatibility with the new build:

  • PPD-34, M1941 Johnson rifle, Madsen LMG and Vickers K machine gun added
  • BraMit suppressor for Mosin-Nagant has been added and can be used together with the scope – if available
  • Introduced a simple overheat system for suppressed SMGs
  • Artillery strike perk has been moved to the British sub-addon (incendiary strike has been removed) and a disposable flamethrower added to the German faction
  • Reintroduced the rifle and pistol start classes – in WW2 versions
  • Large number of new sprites
  • Balance improvements, fixes

Here's a video about the new guns and some of the new sprites:

Had to upload a tiny little update today - due to some bugs related to the 35M rifle.

The new version is a tiny bit slimmer thanks to some .png optimalization and also including new Springfield rifle sprites.

Enjoy!

All the good things must come to a (bittersweet) end - and it isn't otherwise in the case of this project. Nearly two years of dedicated work is about to conclude now for two major reasons: Basically I have achived everything I wanted (and has been able) and probably will have less free time since I am getting another job. I couldn't have a better time to release a beefy update than 6th June (D-Day) - so this is my small commemoration on such an important day (even from Eastern-European perspective)...

I know that no big words should be used around such a trivial addon but even so it was my great pleasure woriking on it, provided me exciting challanges and in general was a huge fun - which should be afterall the ultimate goal.

Minor updates and fixes should be still expected - espeacially, since still there is no sign of Brutal Doom v22 and my final objective is to make this thing run with that.

Thank you for all the bug reports, suggestions and kind comments!

Have fun, and see you around!

----------------------------------

What's new?

- New pistol sprites and reloading animations – in (more or less) unified style
- Slide/bolt now locks open on SLRs and pistols when the magazine is
empty.

- A more realistic “+1 in the chamber” system has been integrated
- More sophisticated and Brutal Doom-like recoil system added
- Volkssturmgewehr added
- Stabbing attack added to the katana
- Upgraded/added (Soviet and allied) NPCs – both hostile and friendly
- Added some textures to replace the Wolf3D nazi-related ones, in
coherence with the chosen sub-addon
- A few new sprites
- Balance improvements, fixes

This is a minor upcoming feature for replacing the Wolfenstein nazis (with Allied or Soviet troops) depending on your chosen sub-addon.

In the video it wasn't demonstrated, but the US general is also fully functional.

Release is still planned after Brutal Doom V22...

Working on some minor stuff until Brutal Doom v22 gets released.

Most included stuff are related to more realistic pistol/self-loading rifle beheavior (bolt/slide locks open, "+1 in the chamber" stuff), new sprites and upgraded/added NPCs.

I've been poking around, aiming for gaining some experinece and trying out different methods to be able to improve the WW2 Pack even further.

Therefore this new little project is far less ambitious, but containing some (18) nice weapons from basically the 90s - or at least the late cold war era.

If you're up for grinding some demons with an AK74, a USP .45 or an M249 - go ahead!

Since still no sign of the Brutal Doom v22 release, I am back with another - interim - version of the WW2 Weapon Pack, which is including:

  • Added rifle grenades for MAS36
  • Added a new character for the mixed addon – along with an own perk, which is a deployable Vickers HMG
  • Added the “+1 in the chamber” feature for auto pistols, and most of the closed bolt/self-loading rifles
  • Added a bunch of new sprites
  • Added a few new intermission themes
  • Balance improvements, fixes

The manual also has been updated.

Don't forget to give a shot to the hardcore mode!

I have decided not to wait for SgtMarkIV and for BD22 any longer, since it's Christmas and a pretty neat amount of new/upgraded content has gathered up by now.

Changelog:

  • MAS36 rifle, Owen gun and Stinger machine gun added
  • T34, Panzer II, Panzer III, Churchill Crocodile and Type 92 added
  • “Mad minute” firing for Lee-Enfield and De Lisle carbine
  • M1897 replaces Model 12 shotgun
  • Large number of new or updated sprites
  • A few new sound effects
  • (Former) Super-mixed replaces the mixed sub-addon
  • Some other fixes

Also I noticed that only just a few have tried and play the hardcore mode which I would like to recommend you all!

Merry Christmas!
