I stick to WWII themed games, but play others. I'm an avid WWII history enthusiast and have reenacted since 2003. Always looking to meet any gamers interested in WWII or history in general. Prost!

What ever happened to this project? Still greatly look forward to playing, honestly half the reason I bought RO2. Hope development is still going.

Thanks for the support. We are sorry to end the project, but we really just don't have the resources to keep development going. The AI is the best it's ever been and is a much greater challenge than v1.7. Hope you enjoy it.

Historical accuracy isn't for everyone. If you have something constructive to offer about your experience we'd love to hear it. Otherwise thanks for trying it out.

Most mods have 70-100 units, N44 has around 200. Just takes more RAM to get the same result. Lower your graphics settings and you'll be in better shape.

Because your computer is lacking a proper graphics card and leve of RAM, reduce your settings and you will be able to play more sufficiently.

I assure you gentlemen that this is not a dead mod. As "ThanatosFM" mentioned reading our previous posts would be quite indicative of the fact that we are still in production. Several key members of the team have been suffering from very serious ailments the last six months. We released a considerable quantity of production stills and videos over the last Holiday season and since then have been working on producing more. When there is a significant update worth mentioning it will be released here, until them you will just have to wait.

Fortunately not, we've been on hiatus for a while as our primary coder has had some serious health problems. We're still producing units but integrating them into the came will take some more time.

As of now we have no plans for new maps. Mainly focusing on finishing v2.0 and the Russians.

Stg44s and G43s are mixed among various units, primarily SS and Luftwaffe.

I know all about the SS division my friend. :-) As I said before the performance/effectiveness of the units is based on their historical combat effectiveness and will be even more apparent in v2.0. The 17th and 12th SS divisions were in fact new but they performed fairly well in large combat operations during the campaign, which is what their effectiveness in game reflects. My point about the assault squad is that's quite literally what they were armed with as they were an assault squad, the squad you're describing resembles more of a regular infantry group, versus the assault groups that were issued assault weapons.
The French SAS are in the game to be used just as the original formation was for infiltration, sabotage and those types of things just as they were in Operation Overlord. While they performed sabotage duties well, such as destroying rail roads, signs and communications in Normandy they did not take part in any serious combat operations as their SS equivalents did. Basically what I'm saying is as they didn't participate in any serious combat operations that demonstrated any sort of an elite fighting ability during the campaign they are not reflected in the mod as such. Hope this helps clear things up.

To be honest it'll come down to how the team sees it. We have thousands of man hours invested in it now and I don't see us not releasing v2.0 regardless of COH2 on the horizon. Only time will tell if COH2 will have mod support, we certainly hope so.

You have to keep in mind that each doctrine/unit is coded to reflect the division's historical combat experience and effectiveness. For example the 709. ID units will perform far worse and be less heavily equipped than the veteran SS units, as they had little combat experience in comparison. Much like the French SAS, which until the D-Day campaign had far less combat experience than the seasoned SS units. When talking specifically about the sturmtruppe these were the designated assault troops of the division and hence are one of the more ruthless units in the game, as well as being equipped with the STG 44s versus more typical rifle group small arms. Versus a regular group of SS riflemen that may only have 1 or 2 STG 44s mixed in. Also N44 really doesn't fall under the typical COH gaming timeline of having early to late game units, as you can produce any one of the production facilities from the beginning of the game versus having to unlock them in sequence in vanilla COH. Many stats have been reworked for v2.0 as well as the entire small arms combat engagement system, so many changes are on the horizon.

I don't completely understand your last post, but I still recommend to COMPLETELY uninstall N'44 and then redownload and install v1.7 from MODDB or another source. I'm on the development team so please message me if you have any further issues.

Sounds like a bad download, the moddb servers are iffy. Redownload and install is your best bet.

We have some AT round abilities for AT guns in v1.7 I believe. There are much more in v2.0. As for vehicles having multiple types of munitions it's not on the drawing board at this point.

As I said before no major gameplay additions such as bonuses or new abilities, that aren't already on the planned list, can be expected in v2.0. There is potential for them in the future.

There are new sniper and arty spotter units for most doctrines in v2.0

guto,
Much like the surrendering scripts it is something we've considered but don't have any plans to implement it currently. Our focus is on adding custom units, reworking the AI and researching the units that historically took part in the campaigns of June-September 1944, so that they are properly reflected in game. With those three primary aspects we hope to work on some custom maps as well as possibly a campaign in the future. Overall game play changes such as armor crews, surrendering troops and the like just aren't on our priority list right now.
