pretty pictures, definitely. Not interested in reading a wall of text about how great a mod is going to be..want to actually see it. Can be pretty without being uber eye candy too....so I vote that :).

Of course most people are going to say they are attracted to a focus on original game-play...'original' is a buzz word these days it seems.

^^ main page, PC MOD news... the main reason I come to the site, to see mod updates across all game engines at a glance. In V4 I can't tell which engine is being used to develop each mod without reading the text decriptions where 'hopefully' it will be buried in the usual PR wordage.

Those little engine logos in V3 were just perfect.

Otherwise looks nice and clean and I like the concept of being able to watch things other than mods themselves. I don't really understand the console tabs at the moment...but it is early here. To sum up, I'm more irritated by the changes than excited by them, which I wouldn't of expected.

Looks like a good mod.. I played for an hour or so a while back, on a really poor map though.. It had unlimited ammo and no reloads, I tried to like it but ended up feeling like a ghost buster blasting at unpenetrable slime, not real fun. The game play seemed ok but I was just too frustrated to continue checking it out, it seemed completely pointless. I'm really blaming the map not the mod, or maybe it was the mod too..hmm. I usually give things a chance, but the whole experience felt like a total waste of time. I guess if I was on a more popular map my whole opinion would of been different. My cousin loves this mod, but he's only 14.

Either way really glad someone is making these kind of mods, I really love shooting zombies when I have time :D.

Oh please, realism is so over rated. The whole mod should be about fun and lots of varied slaying :D. Bring back gamey games!

this mod is great!.. lots of tiny updates, making it feel quite recent a release and very piraty. I'd advise against getting 14.7 though...really really REALLY laggy for me in areas.. 1 FPS when boarding ships....but I imagine the versions before that are just smooth as hell.

@gen_hoohah - big gray UV balls usually mean the game isn't loading custom content/materials. So it pretty much sounds like some of the mods content isn't being found, maybe it's corrupt or misplaced. I can't offer any specific fix other than to suggest you redownload matto4 from another link and try again. I'll ask look into the issue in the time being.

@coinjack/disireablepain - strange, level loading problems?...I'll try to find out, in the mean time, do stock farcry levels load ok still for you?...

The teaser was made before I joined the NMRiH team but I can tell you no copyrighted material will make it into the actual mod itself (excluding some hl2 assets of course). If it will ease your mind, liken it to a commercial music track playing over the video, something a lot of mods go for, just to enhance the mood of the video. But no, content like that won't be used...

Just highlighting that point in case someone gets the wrong idea and nmrih catches fire by accident.

really enjoying this game....not what people said it would be but the atmosphere is great and generally really getting familiar and attached to the maps. Gives the same feel as HL1 in parts, imo anyway.

good game..8/10 from me because of the many hours of game-play to be had, more interesting quantity than timeless quality. With a decent editor this engine looks like it has a lot of opportunities for post-apoc mod ideas onwards.

I like it... I waited till now to get it so the price went down ;). 19 quid.. dvd.co.uk for brits. Graphics are really nice IF you have the rig to run them, I practically can't play on 64 player maps with any of the usual video settings I'm used to. The actual game is really fun and rewarding, the unlocks and ranking is better than bf2, the maps maybe arn't as easy to zip around and outflank the enemy though...something I love to do in BF2. It's head to head action.
