I've played the Beta of the original release, and enjoyed it, especially the well-designed Skill-System, and the Crafting-System.

Basically, you can build all your skills out of components, that you can learn.
Each Cathegory of skills levels individually as you use them, giving you enough possibilities as you like.
Yo can forage for resources, learn to craft Armor and Weapons, whether those are Knives or swords, Clubs or Pistols, even going up to Laser-Tech, or Rocket-Lauchers.

While the first Weapons seem to be made of Boes, the later Weapons come to look quite nicely.

Als included: a Magic-Sytem, allowing you to even craft Spells into your Weapons.

Your Pistol's clip is empty? - Just fire the Magic "Fireball" you enchanted the Pistol with (You need to cast some Crystals, to charge the Magic-Storage of your Weapon).

Alo, the Crafting-System allows you to use variable Materials, using Standard-Materials, that you purchased at an NPC won't give you anything better than Standard-Quality, bt if you kill enough Creatures, and forage the better Materials, you'l end up with better Results.

Thanks for the Informations.
That Updates-Statement clears my question, on how that problem occurred.
Using the new patcher now, to update it correctly.
Also, I'm wondering, if the Updater uses Checksums, like MD5 for validating the downloaded content.
I'm also wondering, if the Updater deletes files, before downloading their new counterparts, or if it downloads them with a temprary filename, (like filename.extension.tmp) and replaces the old files with them after successfully verifying the downloaded ones.

Hmm, the New Frontend keeps crashing, no matter, what I try, even after replacing it with the frontend-EXE from the Forum.

Ah, found a workaround:

After reinstalling the Mod with the Renegade X 0.55-Installer, I copied the Renegade-X.exe to the Desktop, then Updated, then, after having RenegadeX crash after patching to 0.552, I placed the 0.55-Frontend-Exe back into the Folder.

I still don't understand, what's up with the Updated Frontend/Update-Process, resulting in a corrupted Renegade-X.exe, but at least, the Mod works with this workaround.

Can't Start Renegade X after the Server-Client updates to 0.552
Everythig worked fine till the Last Version.
I played Renegade X before, but right after it "succesfully" updated to 0.552(critical update, yeah...), the Program in stantly crashes, when closing the Message-Window about the "succesful Update".

I dunno, what you've changed on the Server-Client, but it's funcionality is now at ZERO, crashing everytime I start it.

My System is a WinXP 32Bit, 4GB RAM, and about 700GB Free Space on C-(+1Free 1TB-HDD)

1.Just reinstalled 0.55(after deinstalling 0.552), and re-updating again.
> Still not working.

2. Uninstalled Renegade X again, then deleted the entire Mod-Folder
> Renegade-X.exe mismatches the File on the Server
(at least a recognizeable Error)
manually starting Updater.exe > updating again
> 1. again, hmpf!

If this keeps up, I hope for a complete, working 0.552-Download, without having to use the Auto-Updater(that seemingly kills the Server-Client when downloading).

@ ImperialKaskins :
You are a stupid moron, UT3 is available for only 10 bucks at retail-stores, if you think, that's too much to pay, then get a Job!
Oh, and if you want to whine about me calling you "a stupid moron", think about your illegal suggestion, insulting my eyes and Mod DB.
