I have played WWIIOL continuously in the 9+ years since I was introduced to it. Every other game I have played since then I have put down, got bored of or completed. Yet WWIIOL is the game that I keep playing.
What is it that has held my interest so long?
*WWIIOL offers me a hard-core gaming experience against the best opponent, another human. The tactical and strategic level is 100% player driven.
* A WWIIOL sim environment where I can fight with and against WWII era kit, which include armour such as Panzers II+, Cruiser and Infantry support tanks as well as American Armour. Not to mention the slew of air units, Anti-Tank guns, infantry units and more besides.
* Physics heavy resolution of the ballistics and damage. Yes, very realistic modelling of the ballistics and kinetic energy in the projectiles that are getting flung across the battlefield.
* Squad play. Join a squad and see the benefits of combined arms (as well as have a laugh). Support your squads armour, provide covering or distraction fire during an assault. All it needs is your creativeness to make it happen.
I would recommend you try this game if you haven't already - if its for you, you will wish you had found it sooner!
