Salsa_Shark is a screen name I started using in December of 2004, it comes from the 1994 movie Clerks. I'm known elsewhere on the internet as Devious_Malcontent or DeviousMalcon_t depending on character limits.

Love that face? You drew it?
Can Build engine do Doom 64 style lightning?

Well the face is actually my cousin; I took a photo of him when he was screaming and then stretched it out in Photoshop. The bored it sits on, the nails and all the blood effects I drew, and the eyes came from another picture I took of a bird, which I blended on to him using Photoshop.

I wouldn't know about the doom 64 style light since I never played that version :\ from what I know both build and Mapster32 can do Colored lighting using palettes, as I've read here: Wiki.eduke32.com that's really the best answer I can give :P also I'm using Mapster32 for EDuke32 instead of build.

Ah flickering lightning and colored sectors! Doom 64's is like a glow, you can set it on floors, lower walls, middle walls and upper walls and ceilings (and actors) separately. And it's gradient, very nice looking and good for atmosphere.

Now GZDoom can't do this sadly. But I was just interested if Build can. EDuke32 at least...

Ah cool! Well from what I know mapster32\build doesn't have this particular effect, I think the closest you'll come to it is that mapster32\build has the ability to adjust the shade of individual objects, and visibility of selected sectors, but not in this manner :\ I kinda wish it did have this effect now. :P although I think there might be away to hack it in to the game, gets me thinking >:D

Description

So I've decided on a new direction for this project to take more inspiration from other games, such as Doom95 and Quake, rather than just solely from Blood, this has actually made the project look more original, while maintaining the 90's Dos game theme.

My graphics and texture skills have improved substantially in the past two years, and doing a course in software design has helped me figure out the best path for this project.
