Yes, the free-roaming survival gameplay is still our highest priority which also includes crafting.
And we try to make it accesible to as many users as possible while still retaining a high quality standard.
And the size of the map will grow as long as we want it to.

The JP version will feature the good old featherless, giant reptile - we are currently working on a new version of our T-Rex.
Crynosaurs will feature dinosaurs from the Morrison Formation which means there will be dinosaurs from the actual Jurassic period like Allosaurus or Diplodocus, but no T-Rex anymore.

The issue was that Saurian wanted to focus solely on dinosaur gameplay while we were open to different options but we are concentrating on human survival gameplay first while still keeping other options in mind for the future as this has always been planned as an ever-expanding product which also includes RTJP as part of it.

We are building our game one step at a time and expand it as we move forward, that includes not just new missions or dinosaurs but also new game modes including most of what you have mentioned. But right now we are concentrating on the dinosaur behavior and the inventory and health system for the survival game play first. We also made some very basic tests with playable dinosaurs a while ago as you can see in this video:

Its a seperate mod, but since we are currently concentrating on Crynosaurs instead of RTJP, we are helping out Colin on Aftermath with the dinosaur models, animation and AI to ensure there will be a JP game in the near future with dinosaurs! And we are currently working on other dinosaurs aswell ...

Have you seen the new Raptor AI yet?

We will concentrate on this one first and implement the JP one later.

We are concentrating on general dinosaur AI and game mechanics first but the JP mod is still in progress aswell.

So far only the raptors are featured and used for test purposes only.
The actual game will however not include these raptors and will also be feathered to some degree.
Other (bigger) dinosaurs are currently in progress.

Maybe you went to the wrong area that hasnt been fully built yet but there are 50 raptors, most of them near the river area.
You can also press F11 to see where they are located.
Usually it should take long to encounter the first raptors, sometimes even a pack of them.

Yes we will keep expanding the game and basic pack behavior is already in the AI.

No you only need a free Crydev account and our file to play it.

For everyone who has problems please try this:

If the graphic settings are too high you can change the resolution in the UI or in the ‘Crynosaurs Tech Demo – v1.0′ folder open the system.cfg file.
Adjust the sys_spec variable 1-4, 4 is the very high setting.
AMD card owners, you may also need to add r_GeomInstancing = 0 to your system.cfg if you’re experiencing a freeze during the level load.

Hi!

Actually the chance for most of that is pretty high.

There will be some random buildings and some of them might have hidden items.
And weapons and especially ammo for it will definitely be rare atleast for the free-roaming survival mode.

And since our main goal is to have a proper ecosystem that also includes prehistoric crocodiles and other animals like the examples you mentioned since smaller theropodes need to eat something too and maybe you as a player might find a rat tasteful when you have nothing else to eat ...

And we probably wont have a bigfoot although that is quiet an amusing idea.
However we will try to include as much easter eggs as we can.

We will provide an installer so you can play it independent from any game.

Yeah its been recently started and a seperate part from the rest of the map made just for our demo.

Ive updated the summary of the project - you might wanna check it out ... most of the time we have been very cautious about giving any estimates but Im very optimistic that this year is going to be really exciting!
