Crynosaurs / RTJP Tech Demo 1.0
Note: You'll need a crydev account to be able to play it.
Just download, extract and modify the shortcut to point to your Launcher.exe's location or just manually navigate to the Launcher.exe in the corresponding Bin folder.
If the graphic settings are too high you can change the resolution in the UI or in the ‘Crynosaurs Tech Demo – v1.0′ folder open the system.cfg file.
Adjust the sys_spec variable 1-4, 4 is the very high setting.
AMD card owners, you may also need to add r_GeomInstancing = 0 to your system.cfg if you’re experiencing a freeze during the level load.

We hope you will enjoy these first steps as we embark on a journey taking us millions of years into the past!
Please note that the current tech demo is only a proof of concept showing basic AI behavior like stalking, resting and basic approaches to pack behavior.
We are currently concentrating our efforts on creating the complex ecosystem that existed in North America 65,5 million years ago step by step and constantly expand the world and the animals that lived during that time.
However the tech demo is by no means a representation of that and the environment aswell as the dinosaur design, animation and AI are only made for test purposes and will be replaced at some point in the future.
The core idea behind this game is to create a free-roaming open-world game experience where you as either a human or even a dinosaur can explore the different prehistoric environments and locations with their vast variety of inhabitants - most notably the dinosaurs - living in a realistic and life-like ecosystem.
The game play will mainly be driven by survival and puzzle solving but in addition to that will also feature for example mission-based, story-driven and dinosaur-based gameplay modes that we will attend in the future.
Furthermore some of the game modes will feature entirely original dinosaurs, characters and stories currently known under the codename CRYNOSAURS or most of the iconic dinosaurs and structures from the JURASSIC PARK franchise.

Well i played it in the lower resolution and my fps are 10 - 15, very low performance, but the demo is good overall
Did did you try lowering the the sys_spec variable in the system.cfg file. That should help.

yay, now i can login. But after the loading screen it crashes back to desktop

Downloaded the zip, extracted, started launcher.exe, created a crydev-account. I dont know what i'm doing wrong, but it keeps crashing while the loading screen.
PS: drivers are up to date
Crysis 2 worked fine on my system.
I get this too sometimes, just kill the process and try again. If it doesn't work after a few times it might be something else wrong.

Try adding this:
r_GeomInstancing = 0
to your system.cfg file.

@ProjectCrynosaurs-Team: I know there aren't many people who still have a 4:3/5:4- Monitor, but it would be nice if you could add some non-Widescreenresolutions to the options

It's awesome! I accidentally turned on fast forward mode with FN (function) + Print Screen or something like that and couldn't turn it off. But still awesome great work :)

Do I just download this 1.3GB file then I can play? Or do I need to download the Cryengine SDK?

Are you planning on open world gameplay or a campaign with npc's like origional Far Cry style? Also it's a long shot but if you could program some AI into the raptors so they HUNT in the game, in packs, like how MIchael Crighton describes it in Jurassic Park and the hunting behavior in PREY?
Yes we will keep expanding the game and basic pack behavior is already in the AI.
You guys should add a health bar and a hunger bar.You collect crates drops(1 per day as the time is fast) everyday in the area where you are in it give you full hunger bar and new guns.With full hunger bar u are able to heal slowly.And add a minimap that show u and movement around you

Can you please put a info line C:\Users\name\Documents\Data\whattheymean and if it opens up the same note pad text where the HELL to stick r_GeomInstancing = 0 because there is loads of places to put it.

Awesome job...I can't wait till they get the indie licensing and the redistributable launchers sorted for the dedicated servers. It is a wonderful engine and has great potential. Again VERY NICELY DONE !!!

OH yeah great! It makes me forget all about warhead 2. Well, over the years I am still interested in tropical view. This time absolutely better than CE2 for crysis, which means CE is always for pure natural scenes. Thanks for your team. Best regard

I cant load the launcher both 32 bit and 64 bit in 64 bit it said the program cant start because D3DCompiler-42.dll is missing from your computer.Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.
