Firstly, the mod has been enjoyable so far. I'm playing the 10th anniversary version. It is well crafted, and I'm looking forward to its further refinement. I would also like to point out, your Discord link here and on your website are invalid- please update the links!
Now, I've noticed some bugs with the American campaign, including a game-breaking one. In order of most severe to least:
1) I cannot disband the militia units. I can recruit them, but they cannot be disbanded. Only "professional" units can be disbanded. The militia units are expensive, and professional units limited in number, meaning a permanent and non-rectifiable drain on the economy unless I literally make my militia die in battle.
2) The National Academy (US) chain does NOT give a research bonus, yet the standard variant is available and does. Why bother splitting them? Rather, the unique Smithsonian should give a happiness bonus AND a research bonus, and the academy line simply removed entirely.
3) Machine Rifling technology is required for Rifled Cannons, but Machine Rifling is NOT on the tech tree and cannot be researched, barring some tech options.
4) The government buildings have an odd split, where one chain has poorer Repression and Tax bonus, and the other has better Repression and better tax, and allows for unit recruitment. Why have the lesser variant available at all? It's redundant, and confusing.
5) Priests talk like Spies. Spies talk like Admirals. Admirals talk like Priests. It's very grating.
6) The Continental Army had professional units, but I can't recruit
professional troops until 1790 or later due to being locked behind very advanced tech, and those are locked behind very expensive building construction. This *sucks* being forced to only utilize militia (which are not as cheap as they should be, and cannot be disbanded).
7) The sunlight sits so low, it casts really harsh and long shadows on the map. While I appreciate it does lift a bit in summer, I think the look of the game would be significantly improved by raising the light source. It should not constantly be 4am globally for turns on end and only improve to 7am at best.
I briefly played the French campaign and really liked it, however I do not speak French and the blank unit cards offer precious little information. Same for the Russian infantry variants, which I could only glean their purpose based on a little icon only visible in custom battle mode, with a grenadier / marine (colonial?) / infantry hat.
Thank you for what you've done so far, while the American campaign is ruined, the quality of everything is tremendous over vanilla.
