New updated Scenario specific maps

Reaper_Armada Blog

Hi Everyone

Not many of you might be using moddb anymore but I'm posting this blog update to let you know that I will be updating my current map that is based on the ME1 galaxy map and I will also be making a map to simulate the retaking of Earth in ME3. These maps should be compatible with the new Harvest update for Dawn of the Reapers and should not be attempted to play with any other version of the game.

Thanks for listening and stay tuned for more info.

Mass Effect 3 Space3 Combat

Reaper_Armada Blog

Ok so I'm posting another huge blog but this time instead of the ending, this will be about space combat and the galaxies fight against the Reapers. Again all my own opinions, but a lot will be info that has credence due to the fact that I've gathered as much information from codex sources and other pieces of infromation.

Strength ration of ships in descending order
This is predominatley my interpretations of spaceship combat strength based on current info.

Dreadnoughts: Huge powerful warships that are around the length of 1 kilometer in length with their main gun taking around 80% of that length. It takes 2 Dreadnoughts to place a Reaper capital ship under threat; 3 to severly weaken it and possibly damage it; 4 results in its death.

Carriers: These are the size of dreadnoughts however they replace their main gun for hanger space meaning their firepower is no where near as powerful. Their offensive firepower is more equal to a light cruiser. However their defensive fire power would be high with their need to keep enemy frigates and fighters away. It is not possible to appropriatley ratio a carrier to a cruiser or dreadnought.

Cruisers: Large heavy ships that are "the bloody infantry of fleets". With this in mind including their length (half a kilometer), I'd say that on average four - eight cruisers are equal to a single dreadnought so therefore it should take 16 - 24 heavy cruisers to effectively destroy a Reaper capital ship.

Frigates: Small to medium sized warships that are fast, maneuvarable and swift. They have weaker firepower but are effective screeners for fleets against fighters and fly through the battlefield in knife fight formation, harrasing and destroying weakened ships. On average it is assumed 6 - 10 frigates are equal to the fire power of a single cruiser, there fore it is assumed that 48 - 240 frigates to take down a single Reaper capital ship. This is a huge range of effectiveness but this takes into acount a huge variety of possibilites.

Fighters: These are used against enemy warships, smothering their defences in disruptor torpedos. A group of fighters or one cruiser is said to be capable of destroying a single destoryer.

Interceptors: These craft are ideal at destroying enemy fighters nad enemy interceptors. They keep the skies clear. It is not known how effective they are against a Reaper ship but they are capable of one on one with enemy occuli which posses both phasers (interceptors) and beams (fighters).

Fleet numbers

At the time of the First Contact War the Systems Alliance Navy composed of around 200 ships. Each fleet is now suspected of composing of the same number giving the Alliance Navy a grand total of around 1600 ships.

The Turian gleets are thought to posses a fleet that rivals the the humans. This gives credence to the reasoning behind the fact the Turian fleet posses of a total of 2000 ships.

The Asari fleet is smaller in size than both these fleets giving reason to suspect a navy of around 1000 ships.

The Salarian fleet is even smaller than the Asari composed of roughly 600 - 800 ships.

The minor species fleets if gathered all together could possibly number around 1000.

The Citadel fleet is seperate to any of the other species fleet. According to the codex the citadel fleet is able to secure all of citadel space giving its fleet number high numerical expecatancy. My estimates are around 2000-3000.

The Quarian fleet though large (around 50,000 ships) are not all of military standard. Estimated effective military strength vehicles are around several thousand (2000-3000).

The Geth have had time to focus solely on building infrastructure and fleets. The Perseus veil is said to house around 5000-10000 Geth warships.

There are an unknown number of Batarian warships however it is suspected to be fairly effective (around 1000 ships).

Terminus systems are a bunch of lawless planets with little allegiance to anyone. If pressed hard enough they could ally with each other creating a possible threat to anyone who invades (possible fleet numbers, around 700).

The Reapers have had the advantage of a massive amount of cycles to create a supremely huge fleet. It is said that one species is chosen to construct Sovereign class Reapers. Millions of organisms are needed to construct just one. On average it is suspected that at least several dozen could be constructed each cycle to supplement loses and maybe even improve fleet strength if the cycle wasn't very effective at being able to destroy many Reapers. Destroyers make up the bulk of the Reaper fleets, giving rise to the belief that there are huge amounts of them. Suspected Reaper numbers are several hundered Sovereign class Reapers, possibly around 400-500. Suspected Reaper destroyer numbers are around 5000-7000.

All these numbers are speculation but have considerable credence due to a multitude of factors, mathematics and codex law.

Battles

There are a number of small conflicts throughout the Reaper war and colossal battles of titanic proportions. The codex exclaims that Reapers were able to be defeated though at a higher cost, it was still possible to defeat pockets of Reapers or even a battle group, if tactics and numbers were masterful.

The Great Battles are, battle for Palaven, Battle for the initial defence of Earth, Battle of Rannoch, Battle of Thessia, Battle of the Citadel during the Reaper invasion, the final Battle for Earth and the Galaxy.

These are just the biggest battles but their were numerous skirmishes and moderatly sized battles all over the cosmos.

I want to add again that these are all my own thoughts and ideas. Non of this is true or false until proven otherwise. It was my interpretation of all the codex entries, gameplay and cutscenes. I interpreted those features as what I would expect and that the Reapers aren't as unstoppable and invunerable as some people say. Yes Sovereign took significant firepower to destroy and it wasn't even the fleet that overcame his shields but he was elected to be the vanguard so he must have been considerably powerful to be given such a task; perhaps more so then an ordinary Reaper. Harbinger is unquestionably the oldest and most powerful however.
Anyway, I hope whoever reads this enjoys this. It might be incorporated into the mod for damage numbers and statistics. Leave a comment and tell me what you think. I'd love to hear other peoples opinions.
I will be updating this blog later on to include tactics used in battle as well as specfic features of battle and I will also be including Reaper weapon strengths as well. However I'm very tired and can't think properly at the moment.

Mass Effect Galaxy Forge Maps

Reaper_Armada Blog

New Galaxy Froge maps are inbound to wincustomize. I'll link it in the new blog update once I've made sure the maps are good and fun to play on. The maps I will be making are the "Retaking of Earth" and one that will include the whole Mass Effect Universe from all three games. You will need Rebellion to be able to play these maps.

The Mass Effect 3 Ending

Reaper_Armada Blog 1 comment

Ok. So I've decided to make a blog to try and give some explanations as to what happened at the end of Mass Effect 3.
I will not be including any indoctrination jiberish and rubbish. That, in my personal opinion, is a load of crap.

This is all my own interperetation as to what happened. Feel free to argue and leave your own opinions in the comment section.

Ok so lets start near the end.

How does Shepard get transported to the contact point between the Crucible and the Citadel when Shepard falls unconscious near the end just before he starts pressing some buttons?

Shepard falls unconscious and is transported to the contact point in which the Crucible is in contact with the Citadel. This could be through various means of transportation e.g via tubes, lifts, conveyor belt type machines, keepers, etc.
Once he reaches this cruical point, the AI that lives within the Citadel awakens Shepard.

Who is this AI and why is he in the shape of the child from Shepards nightmares?

This is the most reasonable explanation as to what I've come up with.
An ancient race long ago, millions of years before anyone ruled the galaxy, the Mass Relay's, the Citadel and all other tech that the younger races use. Either through their own stupidity or the Reapers intellegence, the Reapers killed their master who also created the Reapers. The Reapers realised that if they were not controlled they could kill all life in the galaxy. They decided that in order to save organic races from themselves and their destrictive nature and in order to allow younger races the ability to live a couple of thousand years they created the Cycle. The most intelligent and wise of the AI constructs made the Citadel his home which he knew the younger races would eventually make the seat of their galactic empire.
(Thats the back story to who the boy/AI is)
The reason that it took the form of the child is to bridge a close connection with Shepard and to allow him to feel connected with the AI. This allowed for a more deeper connection and understanding, even though Shepard may not have realised this, he felt more at ease (Shepard=you).

What happens with each choice?

The "Destroy" choice, is considered Renegade because in this act, you kill all aritifical life in the galaxy, including EDI and if you saved the Geth, them too. If your EMS is very low, Earth burns to a crisp and everyone on it dies. If it is at it's highest then only the Reapers die, the Citadel collapses upon itself and destroys all the Mass Relays, (these could possibly be only the primary Relays not the secondary ones though it is assumed the secondary Relays are also destroyed.)
The "Control" choice is considered Paragon because you selflessly sacrifice your self and transmit your conscious into the form of one of the Reapers and control them. The citadel closes and the Relays blow up aswell, the Reapers leave Earth although their destination is unknown. They could be travelling to repair all the Relays.

The "Synthesis" choice (if you have enough EMS to choose it) has your character throw themself into a beam of light which breaks your DNA down to a molecular level and then uses the Mass Relays to transmit it to the rest of the galaxy. Everyone has both organic and synthetic DNA in their body, forming a new kind of life. The Reapers leave Earth and yet again their destination is unkown. The Citadel and all Relays blow up.

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENS TO MY CREW AND THE NORMANDY?

I can only speculate but this is what I've come up with for now.
Joker and the rest of the galaxies mega fleet has either been either forced to retreat and re-group, (dump all their heat charge, make repairs and pre-pare to make another assault) or, Joker retreated after the main galaxy mega fleet was destroyed leaving the survivors to battle it out on the ground. It is unknown what happens to all your companions on the ground, maybe killed, captured for indoctrination or used for making more Reapers or they still fight and kick ass until you make your decision. After this, I really can't say.
To try and answer what happends to Joker and your crew, he possibly had to pick them up to save them from probable disaster or they made it back to him once the rest of 'Hammer' got completely annihalated. Anyway, for some reason or another, Joker doesn't make it through the transit in time and drops out of it into drift which causes the Normandy to crash on a unknown strange paradise world with some of your crew members or perhaps all.

What happens to the galaxy after this event?

I've come up with an explanation for the Renegade option, depending upon what you chose, you can adjust this theory or throw it out the window. Up to you.
With all the dead Reapers, the galaxies species and civilisations were able to harvest a huge amount of valuable technology. They could have either re-made the Relays or they could have also developed a new way of faster than light travel which compensates for the huge distances in space. They could have also kept the standard usage of FTL without the use of Mass Relays and perhaps making it more efficient. In any event, most of the species still trapped on Earth either die of old age or are able to make it back home. Some could also possibly suicide, and some may make Earth their new home and try and help rebuild it. In any event, the galaxy is irrevocabley changed by your descion, weather its for the worst or the best remains to be seen but atleast the galaxy can breath a sigh of relief.
If you chose the Renegade option, Shepard will also be alive, he was able to survive the explosion of the Citadel either, landing back on Earth, protected by all the rubble or he was cacooned in a protective barrier that kept artifical atmopsphere which allowed him to survive. Never the less, his story goes on.

I want to add again that these are my own theories and are not taken from anyone else, I have not looked at forums or videos that contained any of this content and it is completely my own compilation of ideas. This also means that non of it is true or false until proven other wise. I have a host of evidence to back up my theories and hypothesis. You make your own decsion, I've only made this blog to help people understand whats happened and give a possible explanation. If you would like to leave your own ideas, leave them in the comment section below. I'm up for debate and don't mind a bit of friendly banter as long as it remains low key. If you don't like this blog then don't say anything at all and just leave it alone. Again, I'm not forcing anyone to accept my ideas and its totally up to you to make sense of all the plot holes and self interpretation that Bioware has left for the public until the next DLC comes out that will fill in most of these.

Reaper_Armada Blog 1 comment

Haven't posted anything in a while so I thought I'd upadate with a bit of news. If you haven't notcied already, I've been answering a lot of questions on the Dawn of the Reapers page (I still ask a lot though). The reason for this, is, I've become one of the A&Q admin guys along with Shockmatter. So if you've been wanting to ask a question and it hasn't been answered or you have a new one, pop it on the mod page or on mine and I'll answer as best I can.
Our return is imminent.

Modding

Reaper_Armada Blog

Great news anyone who needs someone to code for any mods etc. I finally found out how to code sins (the file converter). I am very happy to help any mod development who needs help coding a variety of things. I also aquired a modelling program and may possible be able to help skin models such as structures or ships although I am not as good at this because I do not have much experience on the matter. However I do have experience in coding and again would love to help out. PM me if your interested otherwise I will continue to supply feedback on a fan base.

As you can tell, I'm a massive Mass Effect fan. I love everything about it and I didn't even mind the ending for ME3. I'll be posting more pics and vids that I find including others from different Sci-Fi games and movies such as Halo. This blog is so everyone and anyone can leave their thoughts and feelings about Mass Effect and their favourite moments and down right dissapointing times in the game. Everyone can pool ideas and add info so we can have a talking community that might also bring ideas and people to help with the current Sins of a Solar Empire mod for ME. So please, leave a comment and come by once in a while for discussion.
