I'd rather not have fanon characters added. I've never read the Stargate books because they're fan fiction, thus irrelevant and not canon. Outside of the additional units you've made to fill out the rosters, please don't use other fandom characters. :/
Ox Cart in space... totally OP superweapon. Yes Please.
*bounces when he sees an update*
*sees it's another Space skirm and bounces a little less*
*continues bouncing though*
Basically, from my understanding, when it's ready. No set date.
Yep, it's working. Thank you very much for the quick reply.
Having an installation issue since I got a new PC.
I have completely reinstalled the Gold Pack as well as the newest SGTPC launcher (1.3.6) and downloaded/extracted all patches up to 1.2.2 but the game fails to launch. Well, it launches, but it crashes after the splash screens just as it goes to the main menu.
Running the Compatability checker, I get two issues I can't seem to go away. Firstly, the official ram fix that I get from the launcher doesn't work, despite me extracting it to the preset directories in the archives. Edit: Nevermind. Fixed this issue by downloading the actual fix after googling it.
The second issue is that it keeps saying Mod directory is not clean, and I'm not sure why. Can I confirm that the directory I extract to should be C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\Mods\Stargate and not somethign else?

Yay for Stargate Mods! Stargate seems to be such an underappreciated franchise when it comes to games, that it's always amazing to see a quality mod in the works.
"It's not that isn't doable - but if we want the GCs to be done within the next 10 years we simply can't afford the manpower."
So, does that mean the current GC is scheduled to be released some time within the next ten years? :P
Wishing you all a happy and safe holiday. Take care and see you in the next year.
Reminds me of Martin Lloyd's ship that arrived in Wormhole Xtreme. Not it, but reminds me of it.
Still going with it being a Tau'ri ship though. :P
Hmm... but it appears to be firing rockets, so more than likely a Tau'ri class ship. I'll need to read up on the myriad of Tau'ri ship designed from literature to make a solid guess.
The sheer size would lead one to believe it's a dreadnaught class ship too.
I've only got a guess on two factions, since it's a white ship but no idea what purpose it serves.
Ori or Asgard. No other races really use white ships.
Cool. Good to know he's doing well. Thanks. :)
How's Merlin, btw? Haven't seen him on ModDB discussions in a while. Maybe I'm just not seeing his posts.
Mod of the Year 2014 has started. Vote for this. Do it!
I hear that you'll get to meet a Furling if you vote. And cake. There's gonna be cake too!
I've voted for this for the last five or six years I believe. Hard to believe it's been that long I've been following.
For this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for the release of Galactic Conquest... *wink wink, nudge nudge*
While that'd be awesome to see on Thanksgiving, this is by no means a hurry up post. Hope you guys have a great holiday and I'm looking forward to more news soon.
Bleh, I wasn't signed in. That comment/question was from me. I hate sites that let you talk without being signed in.
I understand that, but I think others fear that with a reboot, the series they've come to know and love will be rendered moot in the grand scheme of Stargate cannon.
I understand the need for retconning some stuff, in regards to the original movie, because if you tried to make something solely from the movie, you wouldn't get too far as a franchise.
However, with the series, you've got seventeen combined years of history, lore, advancements and what-not that we may soon hear "never really happened" and that only the movie plus the planned trilogy are all that really matters.
Those who love Stargate don't really want to see that happen, and I understand their viewpoint, as I am also in that boat. Sure, they could say that SG-1/Atlantis/Universe was in an alternate universe, but is kinda disconcerting to have them say that the universe we know and love isn't "our" universe.
I do see both sides of the argument, so I'm not discarding either side, which is why I'm looking forward to it with hesitation.
A reboot could be good, bringing new attention to the franchise, or it could be bad and splinter the community, much like how the Star Wars Prequel/Sequel war has been ongoing for ages. Only time will tell what happens. I, personally, hope that the reboot is a good thing.
With good reason. Emmerich has always been against the Stargate series, AFAIK, and with this being a reboot, there's a chance that he may talk MGM into making the series non-cannon.
We know it can happen, look at Star Wars. Everything not the six films or the Clone Wars series is part of the extended universe, which is not cannon.
I look forward to the reboot, but with abated breath.
Apparently, I wasn't logged in when I made that post. :/
So...
Already voted on Stargate - Empire at War: Pegasus Chronicles.
It's been in the works for years, before I ever joined, and it's the only mod I follow on this site.
I would not expect a first half of 2014, myself. Feels too soon. If anything, I have a feeling it'll be fourth quarter 2014 for a full release. Not perhaps 100% complete, but still a rather full release.
Waiting waiting waiting. I hope that once SG-EAW:TPC is fully released it will finally win the MotY award it rightly deserves and has come close to receiving on many occasions.
Oh how I wish I had Janus' Puddle Jumper to jump forward in time, grab the full mod, and bring it back to you. :D
LotRO (Lord of the Rings Online) is an example of a good F2P game. You don't have to pay a cent to play the game in it's entirety. You can buy expansions, or you can farm Turbine Points, which isn't that hard if you have an alt that can farm rep items for other characters, and buy stuff like expansions and quest packs with those. I played for over a year before deciding to drop money on it because it was such a great game.
I keep checking in on occasion, hoping beyond hope to see some GC material, and boy, was I glad to see something.
I'm still playing the old EaW GC release, and eagerly await the FoC release as well. I can't get into Space Skirmish, so, for me, it's been a long long time since any new content has been released that was of interest to me.
What Gold Pack problems were there? I have the gold pack and it installed just fine.
Meant to post this here, but accidentally put it in the summary comments.
Thanks for the quick reply. Was hoping it'd be a simple copy paste from mod to base installation.

I like Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. Not much else.
