You need to grow field crops that have higher probability of "discovering a herb". If you're in a great need for those, you will have to manage growing crops on a lot of fields. There are also some meals that need the herb, do not cook them if you don't have some spares. If that's still not helping you, do not buy new cows while you gather enough herbs.

Well, there's only one open-ended scenario, contrary to Family Farm with several scenarios closing strictly after given time. The characters in the game are no longer nameless drones and one might observe some "personality". We ditched a lot of stuff from Family Farm we thought was not fun (eating on fixed spots, labourers, the way you send characters to work) and we added a lot of improvements. Main improvement are more commodities: there's not only gold, but vegetables, grain, milk, fruits, wool and more. The game flow i a little different from Family Farm, but we think it's much better and faster. There's no way to list all changes, I hope it's more clear now ;)

We didn't have much luck with Intel drivers on Linux with Family Farm. The problem is not in the Intel card itself (it runs fine on Windows and Mac), but in the drivers. I'm not sure if the situation got better, but I guess not. You can check Family Farm demo, we're using the same engine, though updated - if the Family Farm demo runs, the Goodfolks will run as well.

As radman2102 says, you can run the Launcher from installation directory. It's accessible from Desura too, either double click or right-click on Aquadelic GT (demo) in your library and select Configure.

The Launcher crashes with the same "not enough storage" error when creating the homepage?

Can you set the IRPStackSize to something near 50? Almost every mention I've read about the error says something about antivirus, can you disable it (or any kind of software that runs on background, like firewall or anything else that has icon near the clock) for a moment?

Can you open Task Manager and check how much memory the game process uses? Do you have a swap file disabled?

Did the demo version crash? The map in the demo is exactly same as the one in full version...

Could you try one thing that might "fix" the multiplayer? Run the game and while you're in the menu, follow instructions in Addictivetips.com. That should bind the game process to one processor core. We haven't got much multi-core machines when we tested the multiplayer.

Send Log.txt and/or ExceptionLog.txt to support@hammerware.cz, I will check them for any sign of bad behavior. You cand find them in the installation directory. When you're there, delete any .lightmaps files from Precomputed directory (other files should stay there).

Does changing video quality has any effect on crashing?

I guess you have enough space on your hard drive... I've never seen this message before. Maybe the logs will tell me something...

The patch on Desura only adds cached files that I forgot to add to Desura release. Nothing more.

If I remember correctly, the multiplayer was working fine, at least in our office ;) What version do they have on Gamersgate (check top-right corner in main menu)? If it's not 1.3, there's a chance the update on www.aquadelic.com will solve your issues.

No idea how to fix the screenshots though. The hard way is to open them in some image editor and invert it again, but I guess that's not what you wanted to hear ;) I will ask the programmer... what video card / OS do you have?

Full support is a myth ;)

We will try to solve any issue with Aquadelic GT (contrary to Wave Rave which we do not support, because it's more like a tech demo than a game). But we're not exactly in position to promise to test the game on various hardware configurations as our resources are limited.

I'm just making an update to fix this "loading issue". The game appears to be frozen, but it computes lightmaps and visibility optimizations that should have been precomputed and shipped with the game. It could take up to ten minutes. The update should be ready tomorrow. It won't fix your low framerate though.

I believe it's MSXML, but I'm not sure as I was not programmer on the project. But I have never seen this error during development (of both Wave Rave and Aquadelic GT).

You should be getting more than 10 fps, it's running smoothly on my 6 years old GeForce 8800. Try setting different video quality or lower resolution in the Launcher. If it doesn't help, update video card drivers.

Yes, fullscreendisplayfreq should be set to either 60 or 0 (will use current refresh rate). When we were developing the "game" a few years ago, CRT monitors were still popular ;) However 85 shouldn't cause problems, at least it does not cause problems on my computer with 60 Hz display.

The game doesn't like Intel video cards. Sorry to everyone with Intel.

Can someone who doesn't have Intel card and can't play the game send me a log file and hardware configuration, please? It's User\*.txt in installation directory. Either PM me here on Desura or send it to puncin@hammerware.cz.

Also make sure you have OpenGL drivers installed. Some computer vendors don't include OpenGL support with video drivers. Downloading latest drivers from your video card manufacturer web should do the trick (http://www.geforce.com/drivers or Support.amd.com).

If you have a low-end video card, you can try to disable some gfx features. Open User\Engine.ini, find

[ProjGridWater]
usequality = ProjGridWater_Q2

[Shadows]
usequality = Shadows_Q2

and set it both to _Q4. That will disable shadows and render ugly water, but it should run on anything that can render triangles.

Does the log file say anything useful other than address of access violation?

Not anymore ;) The game was licensed exclusively to 3D People, but the deal expired a few weeks ago.

Don't worry, this is 5 years old game and it did run pretty well on low-end computers back then ;)

We will need to recover Turbo Delphi license in order to create demo version... mine was lost in old mailbox, maybe other team members still have theirs.

Player profiles (a.k.a. save games) are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Family Farm (XP), C:\ProgramData\Family Farm (Vista/7) or ~/.familyfarm (Linux). If you happen to have a backup of that directory you can continue playing where you've stopped.

The black screen issue could be (most likely) fixed by deleting config file and/or player profiles. They are stored in one of the following directories depending on your system:

If you're on Windows XP, it's C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Family Farm.
If you're on Windows Vista/7, it's C:\ProgramData\Family Farm.
If you're on Linux, it's ~/.familyfarm.

Delete appconfig.cfg, if it doesn't help, delete profiles.db. If it still does not run, send me Run.log and Ogre.log to puncin@hammerware.cz. If there are any files with random name and .dmp suffix, send them too.

Well, it's not a hardcore FPS game so we preferred saving some CPU/GPU processing time (cooling fans not rotating at max speed while playing) instead of making the game "ultra responsive".

Aging only affects performance of workers. We don't think (non-desura) players would take well that characters die ;)
We're not sure whether we will add more features to the game or not. We're working on iOS and Android port right now and it requires more radical changes than we expected, so we're kind of short of time.

This may be related to a DDS format used to compress textures with fonts. Those compressed with DXT5 compression are fine but those with R4G4B4A4 pixel format are corrupted. I will try to fix this in next update (should be out this week).

We definitely want to support the game with a new content in the future. As soon as we finish fixing bugs and porting the game to Linux and Mac, we're on it.

About pigs... We tried to make the game non-violent, I'm not sure kids would enjoy sending workers to slaughter pigs (though hardcore gamers might love it).
