Family Farm is an innovative tycoon game in the setting of 19th century farmsteads. It's a simulation of a farmstead experienced in stories which span a generation. Clicking cows won't earn you any cash! You control characters with RPG-like attributes, skills and needs. Keep them fed, develop their skills, upgrade house to accommodate a bigger family and grow their land in to a Family Farm!
The game interface presents the farm in a god view with ability to zoom in and out. The game world is tile-based, so you can easily plan fields, corrals, orchards and other game objects.
Time of a season is limited and activities take place in real-time, so you have to manage your workers efficiently. You have to cook meals for them and watch for their fatigue otherwise morale goes down. Family members improve in skills which makes them faster and increases chance of critical success (ie. multiplying yields). Yields are determined by properties of crops in relation to soil fertility, weather and additional work.resents the farm in a god view with ability to zoom in and out. Workforce can be hired which is costly, but if you upgrade the house enough, perhaps new baby will be born. As family grows you can expand your farm and focus on long-term investments such as livestock or orchard.

Hi, i've just purchased and installed Family Farm via Desura but I cannot play it. The Family Farm screen completely disappeared when launching the first tutorial. It seems that it tried to load something.
Here is the scenario, I launched desura > Family Farm > create profile > start story > lowlands > first lessons...loading.....
Then the Family Farm window suddenly disappeared, only desura is left. Could you help me please, thank you.

why there's no career mode in this game?

i love the game, but have one problem. my computer hat to be reset to factory default, and now i have to play the tutorial all over again. *sadface.jpg
Player profiles (a.k.a. save games) are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Family Farm (XP), C:\ProgramData\Family Farm (Vista/7) or ~/.familyfarm (Linux). If you happen to have a backup of that directory you can continue playing where you've stopped.
Was actually really looking forward to playing this game, though my hopes were dashed when this game doesn't even laucnh. I like my screens yea...but theres only so long I can look at a black screen of death. Im to lazy and have no patience to go about finding a solution...so I thought I'd post here and perhaps rekindle my hopes of every playing...family farm hahaha....but seriously ppl!! A SOLUTION MUST BE FOUND!!
The black screen issue could be (most likely) fixed by deleting config file and/or player profiles. They are stored in one of the following directories depending on your system:
If you're on Windows XP, it's C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Family Farm.
If you're on Windows Vista/7, it's C:\ProgramData\Family Farm.
If you're on Linux, it's ~/.familyfarm.
Delete appconfig.cfg, if it doesn't help, delete profiles.db. If it still does not run, send me Run.log and Ogre.log to puncin@hammerware.cz. If there are any files with random name and .dmp suffix, send them too.
