Just to add to checks I mentioned below - which where ensure you have XNA & .net installed.
Please also check and download DirectX 9.0c. I'd not sure later versions are fully backwards compatible.

And of course I offer my apologies for the technical issues.

The menu interaction is done with the cursor keys rather than the mouse. Sorry about that. Then it's mouse controls once you're in the game. You can also use the xbox gamepad. (Use spacebar & start) on each to toggle between them.
Not sure what the skysphere issue is.
In general for anyone having issues I apologise and please ask desura for a refund if you can't get it working.

Sorry to hear that. Some things to try...
The game requires a DirectX 10 compatible graphics card, if that was error it would complain about a HiDef profile not being found.
Make sure you run the 'setup' rather than the automata installer. The setup should install any required frameworks, which is XNA & .net. Try installing these manually if it's still not working.
