I voted the past 2 years for this mod. However, this year I wanted to vote for mods I actually played. BM is looking fantastic, but I could not pass up on voting solely for The Stanley Parable. That mod was just, beyond words really. So, when BM is released, I will play it and consider voting again then. Otherwise, I have Skyrim, Terraria, and Minecraft to keep the wait bearable. Cheers.

I love the MP5 recoil. I would have liked to have seen some firing from the hip.

Personally, I was looking forward to the Raccoon City revisit. It is what caused me to track this mod in the first place and I am sure that is why many fans were disappointed when we heard it was cancelled. Now that it is back on track, I am not as enthused about it as before. I'm not trying to be negative, but I was looking forward to the original premise you came up with.

Pheist - - 61 comments @ Why do you pirate games?

I used to pirate until I graduated college and got a high paying job. Now, I went back and purchased every single game I pirated except 2. There are a coupld of games that are no longer in print and cannot be bought from Amazon or eBay.

However, there are several games that I found that were $10 when I bought and $50 upon release. That would be $40 loss from someone like me. So, I just bought copies for my friends equaling the amount. i.e. 4 more copies.

Question: Have you tried looking at the code for the monsters in Sven and copying some of the code over? I've done it once before for another mod to up the weapon stats.

Pheist - - 61 comments @ Why we removed the school shooter mod

Why I disagree:

1) After columbine, they blamed Doom and the Matrix
a) I owned both and have never had an urge to massacre anyone

2) They said the same about Rockstar games
a) Manhunt Series
b) Grand Theft Auto Series

3) You could have gone about this through several other actions
a) Put up a disclaimer flash page
b) If you feel responsible, put up rules for the mod community that details acceptable content.

4) I doubt that this mod would honestly pull in more press than any of the Postal games

Why I agree:

While I believe in the freedom of speech, I also believe in the responsibility of speech. It is because people hide behind the freedom and not the responsibility within society that we have groups like Westboro Baptist who are allowed to trample on the freedoms of others.

So, I will leave with a question:

How do we allow freedoms to be expressed without trampling on the freedoms of others or possibly inciting actions of groups that lack the mental capacity to distinguish between fantasy and reality?

Serious question: How does the storyline of Opposing Force 2 differ from Awakenings? I am looking forward to anything dealing with Opposing Force. I liked some parts of Awakenings, but this sounds more like my type of mod.

Alright, finally decided to play the game. I am impressed. I am 33 and enjoyed the aspects of the game. It reminded me of a cross between Beyond Good and Evil and Zelda the Wind Waker. I had an adrenalin rush racing the ninja. My children watched me play it and then wanted a turn to play it.

1) The graphics are excellent. I would like more sound effects during the storybook at the beginning (i.e. rain, etc.)

2) ALL pirates should have a parrot. Out of all adventure games, a sidekick is needed at least for humor. I would like to see a mouthy parrot added.

3) The jumping and exploration are very well done; no complaints.

4) Graphics wise, I love the look. Only thing I would change is the ship fights. Make it crosshairs from the cannon rather than just pull the trigger.

Over all, I would certainly buy this on Steam for $10-20 if you released it there. Compared to the other indie crap people are putting up lately, this game would certainly have a large following and be well worth it.

I've played each of the maps and must say that they are spectacularly fun. FYI: Steam users unzip map folders to: C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\HauntedGame\published (Win7 and Vista).

Frikkin' genious. This has got to be the best mod ever. Only thing I would add is the ability to move in the crouched position. Other than that, this mod is great. If only you could do this for Mona the Assassin.

I have been watching this one along with Black Mesa Source. While both groups show equal dedication and skill in recreating fantastic games in the Half-Life series, I will say that you guys by far show a much deeper dedication to the fan-base. In this you have my appreciation and thanks. If you guys are released at the same time, this will get my vote just for keeping us up to date. You are all skilled and show a passion in everything you do, including the MR.

The Nameless Mod took around 7 years. I will give it that much time. However, if the world ends in 2012 and this mod still isn't out, then I will stop waiting...er...hm.

I personally have purchased 50 games on Steam through their platform. I have never had anyone use my information or card against my authorization. I have been with Steam since 2005. I just purchased Torchlight on sale with Steam for $5 and must say that it is totally worth it. I don't purchase games anywhere else online except through Steam. The rest of the time I buy in stores like GameStop or Wal-Mart. If you use Steam, you will see that you can purchase through their interface and never have to go through a website.

Pheist - - 61 comments @ Survival horror is dead, but our love is not.

As far as survival horror being dead, I only have to say a few things. Yes, I agree that the zombie thing has been done from almost every aspect; I'm sure there are a few more variations we haven't seen. However, after games like Dead Space that tamper with things that H.P. Lovecraft would write about, I have come to appreciate "unimaginable" horror. I love mutations that cause you to approach this genre from a different perspective. The problem is, the stories have gotten last. The reason Silent Hill was so successful and Resident Evil was not the creatures alone, but the storyline and plot. Half-Life has zombies, but it is the storyline for me that makes it worth playing. I own L4D and can honestly say I can play through 1 level and then get bored. Why? Because it is a lack of storyline. So, having said all that.... We have yet to dig into the deepest recesses of our fears to realize the other angles of survival horror. I would love to see someone tamper with Outbreak (reason I liked Syphon Filter) or even attempt to recreate some of my fears from the book "The Hot Zone". We fear infections, we fear the living dead, we fear running out of ammo. So, what is next? I can't wait to see.
