Those models are excellent.
Great fun was had today.
I think it might be cool if you allow 2 people to play Overwatch, that way he's not all lonely.
I don't really think this is really something new. Onos already do double damage against building, HMG do half damage to buildings, gas have no effect on heavy armor, etc, in NS1.
Looks pretty nice for a browser based game!
Sounds great. The new traitor mode reminded me of map like Zerg Infestation and Who's Alien on Warcraft 3, which is a lot of fun. Looking forward to it.
Sounds like a nice overhaul, will try.
The new enemies and weapons are all quite fun to fight and use. Very enjoyable and I look forward to play episode 2.
Nice job, the direct control thing would serve an excellent role of distinguish this mod from other commercial RTS titles (only other title that I know that has this is MoW/soldiers/FoW)(let's not talk about the terrible job Relic did with direct fire...).
tis a nice game
Looks interesting, but where can I find more info about this mod?
This post is from penny arcade. F-bombs are very much needed for emphasis there.
Driving distance for map like Wacht am Rhein is hardly necessary. Ok, sure it adds to the realistic aspect that tank park is usually a couple miles away from the front line but it adds very little to the game. On map like that, there's usually lots of text chatting because everyone's just driving about.
Does RO (and associated mods) really simulate logistic in detail? Not really, so reinforcement should be fairly close so players can get into action. That is why most people prefer Arad over blackdayjuly (and wacht is at least 5 times worser than BDJ).
I mean, use some imagination FFS. We can easily assume the reserve are moved up to a forward position and players are spawned there as the crew.
And penetrating shot killing crew member. Now you have half of your crew on most combined arm map standing around in spawn or attempting to run for over five minutes just to get back to playing.
The "commander" is the loader, the gunner, and the commander all at the same time. Is that really realistic when 3 men turret was already the norm at the time? Why does the commander popping his head out of the hatch (or getting panzershreck-ed in the turret) and died mean both the loader and the gunner dies? That doesn't make much sense from both gameplay or realistic point of view
Just some ranting, the game is fine and I am pretty sure soon people will stop voting for wacht.
Has it been a year already? Survivors pack is pretty major. Sure, its concept is simple, but to fine tune it (and all the maps) takes time.
How long did it take TF2 to get its first major update? 7 months?
How long did the survivors pack came out? 5 months?
I'd say L4D is doing pretty good in terms of update.
That's what Ion Storm thought, and look at where they are now.
Because it's 2 different teams working on different game...
L4D is made by Turtle Rock, recently (as in, a year ago) acquired by Valve.
I would say Zombie Panic started it all and the CSS zombie mods, which is pretty much inspired by ZP brought this genre to the forefront.
Honestly, a lot of the stuff you wrote here is simply not true. ZM and the lack of ammo appear in the same sentence (alright, technically that's possible, but most maps are extremely generous with ammo)? I also think you should try the RTS part a few times (the main selling point of the mod, FFS) before commenting on the mod. The cunning employed by the zombie master is unmatched by the AI director in L4D can ever hoped to be (since the AI director is not trying to "win", so I guess it doesn't really need to be to terribly good)
Filefront is gone, FOREVER
Great, looking forward to the release.
What does he mean by giving away a character class? The achievement unlocks?
This needs to be Steamed, NOW
These two renders looks very concept art like for some reason. Is the team going for a unconventional visual style?
Great release, but the improved AI, while great, makes the average play into an even bigger clusterfuck
Cool, keep up the good work
Fine and all, except why can't you at least put some effort into the file description..?
Very nice explanation and good model, too.
