Cry of Fear

Game review

Before I start, I have not finished this mod, so it may or may not shift in quality at the end of the game.

Gameplay: A very large improvement over Afraid of Monsters, the difficulty is just right on Normal and pickups along with saves are put in areas where you may die or need stuff.
The ability to duel wield a pocket knife or glock with a lightsource makes fighting much more interesting. Its also nice that some lights don't require batteries, getting rid of the cheap deaths from Afraid of Monsters.
Puzzles are all fun and interesting, while some may be harder to figure out then others, its still very much fun.

Scares: With many scares being much scarier due to the atmosphere. Tension is almost to tense, when your wandering around dark city streets, barely alive and have no resources to fight with.

Music and Looks: Very good looking, and the sounds do match the creepy atmosphere well.

The Bad: The game at 1.0 has many problems, while I didn't expect it to be perfect, I didn't expect issues such as the game crashing if you play it for more then two hours. I'm only going to hold this as one point since it seems these problems are large and only require restarting.

In Conclusion. Should you play Cry of Fear? Yes, you should. Its a great single player experience backed up with many scares to knock your knickers off. I feel that Multiplayer can not be reviewed since it relies heavily on the people your playing with, but it is a ton of fun.

Give it a shot if you want to scare yourself.
