Wow, that was quite the ending sequence. Haven't played something quite that powerful since Undertale.

What did you put in this file to cause so many alerts? 13 out of the 43 antivirus programs tested detect this as a Trojan or heuristic virus.

I am not accusing you of intentionally including a virus or that your file has a virus at all. However, do you have any clue what could cause these alerts?

In a messed up sort of way, stopping Finn from going into the sewer was probably Jake's way of protecting Finn, he just couldn't remember why.

Ah, alright. I've mostly gotten used to it by now, so it's not a deal breaker or anything. Just curious.

Though, perhaps they could be pushed a little more to either side? The issue isn't really that I can't stop looking at them, it's more that it feels like my vision is being funneled down a tunnel.
Again, it's not a big deal or anything, so if you're really set on the hud design you don't have to change it.

You can't, not in any normal fashion. Though, it might be theoretically possible if you're willing to entertain more outlandish ideas.
You would have to somehow get the monsters to line up perfectly to shoot you into the Icon of Sin, killing you. You would then have to get the Creeper or the Stalker to teleport into there with you and damage the Icon of Sin. However, I'm not sure if you can get either of them to actually attack Romero, never mind even getting in to the room in the first place, which may not be possible without an Arch-vile or rocket launcher.
So, I wouldn't hold your breath it's going to be possible anytime soon, unless Ral22 decides to resurrect this project and implement a way to beat the Icon of Sin.

Just so everyone knows, this version is outdated (1.0). The current version is 1.1, and can be found on DoomWorld.

Here's a link to the page:

Don't drag the folder onto GZDoom. Take the files out of the folder and drag those onto GZDoom. The engine doesn't seem to like folders.

Any way to customize or at least change the hud? I'm loving the mod, but the big blue bars down either side of my vision are rather distracting.

Instructions are in the description. It's not too complicated, so you shouldn't have too much trouble. Just remember to set Source 2013 to the beta branch: That's the most common thing to forget when going through the process.

So, are you just determined to make MMod compatibility patches for every mod ever made?
You take up around half of the available patches right now. That's some insane work ethic.

Someone already made one.
It's from Zippys2, who's made about 1/4 of the MMod compatibility patches available right now.

Found a few small errors and misplaced objects/sprites after a few hours of playing.

One was outside SCP-447's room, specifically outside the observation room. There is a light hanging in midair at eye level with the player, far from the position of the light bulb. It may actually be preventing access to the observation chamber, as there is a collision that prevents the player from reaching the keycard reader.

The second issue I discovered was in 914's observation room. At the far end of the room, where the display case is, there is a keycard reader that is sticking partway through the wall. There is also an invisible wall preventing me from reaching it.

Also, I noted that the SCP-447 and 914 rooms were adjacent. 914's room was on the right, and 447's room was on the left, which puts 914's observation room awfully close to 447.

Was there any particular reason this version could not be found on the Internet for the longest time? Individual updates don't usually just disappear.

I personally use the American spellings, but I appreciate that you made this. I can understand the annoyance of seeing words spelled differently from what you are used to.
Not sure what you mean when you say, "This addon turns several pickup texts to be grammatically correct," though. As far as I am aware, there were no grammatical errors. Perhaps I have simply not been paying attention?

Also, there is a usage error in the description. "This addon turns several pickup texts to be..."
It should be something like "This addon adjusts several pickup texts to be..." or, "This addon changes several pickup texts to be..."

Kind of...
It does require no manual reloading and gets rid of the reloading animation, but there are still clips. There could be some ammo in the chamber of the SSG, and whatever is in that gun is not available for the regular Shotgun to use.
Since getting rid of clips, magazines, etc. is the whole point of a player choosing the no-reloading option, the option may as well not exist at all in its current state. Oh, and let's not forget that if the Shotgun runs out of ammo, two precious seconds are lost on the "out of ammo" animation.

You could just do the let's play. You do not need the developers permission: It falls under Fair Use so long as you remember to give your opinion about the game at some point during the video.

I suppose that's one way to do it. XD
As clockworkreaper said, it really goes in the "sourcemods" folder in the Steam directory. This applies to all Half-Life 2 mods unless stated otherwise.

You can check in the file description. You know, all that text above the "DOWNLOAD NOW!" button.
Under "Category" it says, "Full Version", which means this is the latest version of the mod, not a patch.

Allow me to clarify for spedos.
What spedos meant is that this is a HL2 mod, not a HL1 mod. thevordutron said they had all the Half-Life games installed, and it only works at the very start of the chapter "Black Mesa".
Black Mesa is not a chapter in Half-Life 2, that is a chapter in Half-Life 1. That implies vordutron attempted to install SMOD with the first Half-Life, when SMOD is strictly a Half-Life 2 mod.
spedos22 may not have felt anymore information was necessary than "HL2 Mod", since it answers why thevordutron had a missing map error.

That's because you can't upload anything to the workshop yet. They had it implemented as you know, but it had to be removed temporarily because of being to buggy.

I understand. It's too bad you're shortening the game, and have to stop for a while, but it's better to have a 5 minute game that's terrific, then a 10 hour game that's horrible.

Take your time, and remember that we'll be here when you get back. :)

TheFlamingDrake - - 26 comments @ Weekly Update #11 - Scripted events, setting up scares, and a short teaser

That's a nice idea, adding many possible scripted events that trigger depending on what the player does. It would vary the gameplay quite a bit from one person to the next, and has much potential, but it also could have many bugs along with it.
You'd have to make sure to add something for every variable. What if the player closed the door, moved a chair in front of it, and then looked back behind them?, What if the player closed the door and turned around, without putting the chair in front of it?
I don't mean to make you feel pressured, I'm only pointing it out. I have faith you'll succeed.

TheFlamingDrake - - 26 comments @ Some teaser footage for fun and current developments!

Funny, just the other day I was wondering what it would be like to have a game where you can do everything in whatever order you want, just some things would have to wait until you got something else. So far the only games I've heard of that do this is are the original Zelda game and Metroid Prime, to some extent.

I doubt that's what you're doing here, but the point is, I agree with you that a lot of horror games out there just don't give you the freedom to explore.

Also, I have a question. Will this game have more than one way to get you to where you want to go? Like you can take one route and find one puzzle, or take another and find a different one? It's a little hard to explain what I'm thinking of, sorry.

I get this error whenever I try to enter Mansion-Section Two:

FATAL ERROR: Could not load world file 'custom_stories/Ninth of October - Continuation/Maps/C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/amnesia the dark descent/custom_stories/His dearest friend/Maps/Mansion_2.map'

Is this because I don't have Amnesia for Steam? Because it seems to be trying to access that.
