Does it require Desura or can I download and play it without Desura? I really don't like Desura even though that may be blasphemy here. I just don't like having a couple games on Desura and all the rest of my games on Steam.

Actually it isn't. At all. Just because you can get the code to a game to make mods doesn't mean you can just make it into another game for profit. I can make mods for Skyrim, but can I turn it into another game and sell it for 60 bucks, no. Besides, they didn't even use the source code like he said. They are using a totally different language.
