73-perrson makes a good point though, the game is more about run and gun then taking cover and taking them out. A spagetti western game IMO just isnt possible on a PC, for a true western I think you need to limit how fast and how well you can aim. Im thinking Killzone 2 gameplay mechanics with less health.

be great to have the 'requesting air support' button actually mean something. Jets are too fast for any size map, so how about some helicopters? Just make sure they are hard to fly and the ground turrets have the ability to hit them so they arent spammed easily.

I really hope that some company in the future is seriously looking into having a flying aspect or jumpjet idea into a game in the future. The battlefield would completely change.

Your in a firefight online and you outnumber them 8-5. All of the sudden, the three other troops behind them do a jumpjet right over to a barricade behind you dropping grenades on their way, but you get at least one down before they land but they get 2 of your guys. You retreat to higher ground above group of 5 and drop a C4 killing 2 and making the others run.

You guys can see it from there, but having that kind of firefight would be quick, tactical, and really friekin fun IMO.

if you guys ever get seen by a company or ever think about going to make your game to be retail, you should definitely have the game go to the PS3. The processing needed for this game is going to be way to intense for any normal computer, and the PS3 can meet all your graphical needs as well. Also, make sure that if you do go PS3, work with Media Molecule Ltd. all i need to say for them is Little Big Planet. This epic you are creating is easily able to take games like Halo or WoW and crush them beneath your feet while stepping into your battlecruiser to go to the next galaxy with every planet along the way being able to go to upclose.

Sry if selling your game is something you guys never want to hear, but you have to at least realize the potential you are able to reach.

Halogen was shot down because Microsoft thought it would be a good idea for bungie to make an RTS game of Halo. Halogen beat them to it so they shut it down because M$ is a **** and doesnt want anyone, not even non profit modders to compete with them. So once M$ wants to make a RTS Halo game in space, you know your going to be in trouble. Just pray that Bungie parts ways with M$ soon so they can make different games that arent Halo.

love the stances, will you be able to do them infight while you taunt your opponent villian style? If so friekin awesome!!

Now that I think about it to add on to the already huge list of sword melees you guys have made, can there be a way to sprint and strike. You see it in almost any anime with a sword, two oppenents jump back after an epic onslaught of attacks and blocks and charge at eachother full speed to a single slash that usually leads into one of them falling.

To avoid the spint and strike being abused, is there a way to have a certain distance made before you can strike? If so, i think that would avoid any problems with abuse. I guess the easiest way to do the attack would be to have a sprint button. Hmm...I guess to avoid the spint being abused as well would be to either limit you ability to turn while sprinting, just like how the ability to turn while sniping is limited.

An endurance meter to avoid people running around the ring like an ***... nah that would be an improper limit to this game.

I sent you guys a message on the contact button in the profile section, I really hope I can be an Alpha tester for this, ever since Billiverse for C&C went under Ive been bored out of my mind.

Congrats on your update guys.

I really want to help out, but I dont know how. If you know of software i can get my hands on to help with Props or doing texture work, id be glad to. For now im just about the ideas. (cries a little inside)

Anywho, character customization.

Will we be able to make our own characters in terms of asthectic appeal? And if not, the will it be possible to include that.

Also in term of your sword and shield, will they all look the same based on lvl or can we customize them within our lvl.

Thats the only question ive got for now, no new ideas right now, although it seems you guys have it pretty well down anyways.

For focus moves, I was talking about going into an immobile position that would stay that way until you either do what that focus move is for or until you cancel it. All the focus moves would have the same immobile stance so it doesnt give itself away, then would be used when you use the set button to use the focus. If you dont know what im talkin about, then...umm....whatever, im not 100% behind that idea anyway.

Another thing I was thinking about was attack layout. I was thinking have attacks layed out on the mouse for what way you swing the sword.
For example,
Left button: swing left
Right Button: swing right
Scroll up: swing up
Scroll down: swing down
Middle button: stab

The defend button would be on the keyboard, E or something like that. Seems a little complicated now that I think about it, but always good to say somthing than nothing.

Also, if your match could be recorded by the game and then you have the option at the end of the match to save replay. That would be cool, because people could easily put their epic fights on Youtube or something without an outside recording program.

Id be glad to be an Alpha tester for this, a game that requires skill rather then shootemup or hacknslash is something we need more of.

hey mflux, ive got a few ideas and just want to put in my 2 cents.

Combat styles: (Any other styles then the 3?)

Couldnt it be possible to have different branches of stances in a set stance? Say you have 1 and mid, 2 as heavy, 3 as light. Thats fine, now wouldnt it be better if you can have multiple stances for each style. Take mid, good all around with the sword in front. Now take the sword and flip in your hand. Now you can get different parries and dodges. Heavy, make a defence oriented that uses shields as weapons. Light, sneaky backhanded tricks. (Im just goin on and on at one point but still)

Weapons:

After a while, not everyone is goin to like goin into battle with the old shield and sword everytime. Mix it up a bit. Duel katana, halbred, great hammer, sickle, shields, and of different but evenly matched of each kinds. Have character customization truely be customizable. And dont let havin a shield force a weapon on the other, let the player have 2 shields. I know you guys are focusing the game around skill and strategy, but not everyone is gunna like fightin identical people.

Maps:

Destructible surroundings...thats all i got for that.

Focus Moves:

Get into a stance for a powerful slash or a good parry. Have all focus moves go into the same stance to allow deception. Im not 100% behind this idea...may lead to abuse and cowardice.

Umm... thats all i got for now. Whatever you do, dont put projectile weaponry into the game. Itll destroy it.

Id play, but steam has been sayin "**** you" to me lately with an error message sayin "Unable to load SteamUI localization file" If anyone knows what this is and how to fix it, plz tell me. Steam support is no help, I put in the question on how to fix it 4 days ago and not a word from them yet.

aww man, couldnt you guys make on half life 2? you have a much better source engine to work with. And also i dont have half life 1. If this was on 2, i would be happy but now i have this sittin in front of my face laughing because i wont be able to touch it. :(

an advanced damage system? awesome. Will having an arm in the red render some guns useless because they require 2 hands to use or will it just have less accuracy. Personally, id like to see the first one. Less accuracy seems pretty cliche.

the nuke doesnt feel real to me. For it to be a real nuke, it needs to suck in everything in range toward it with a pretty good gust that can bend trees towards the blast first, then have the actual blast send a torrent of shockwave and fire. Otherwise very nice UBERnuke.

maybe you cant get the anti air upgrade until lvl 3, but that would be stupid. Idk, maybe it is an upgrade on the humvee itself, not a tech upgrade

even though you should focus around playing snake, include him anyway in a different game mode like the one in MGS3 online...before it was cancelled. No intelligence missions, just one against all and the one has some abilities, like MGS4 snake's changing camo and other special equipment and weapons.

Woot, 100% at second vote keep it goin! Games are great, but mods sometimes bring out what ppl actually wanted out of the game. Stressing sometimes, some mods are just crap.

Mods today have reached there own level really. Before it just used to be the one guy at home messing around with his game, making minor tweaks and changes for himself. Today, we have around 4-6 people per mod, all focusing to make their mod the best they can in hopes of some great recognition.

Other mods are done so well that other companies take a second look. Halogen, a mod for C&C Generals, made the Halo universe into an RTS platform. Bungie liked the idea, so their big brother Microsoft came by and shut down the project after 3 years of work. Now we have Halo Wars coming out soon without so much as a thank you to the ones who started the idea.

Modders do make the games, but dont get enough recognition for what they do or try so hard to do.

Oh and MadKil40, EA is a downfall to games. Look at C&C again. Westwood made the game great, EA got a hold of it, Generals and C&C 3 suck. Moral of the story, EA needs to stay with sports games.
