I would like help with something.
This mod looks lovely i have played it for some hours on and on through the years but i just cant get over the skirmishers having to charge to throw the javelin and end up stop playing:
*It messes my lines
*Requires micro that historically wouldn't be there since the skirmishers always **** up and end up getting caught while they bug doing that
*And is making the battles focusing on babysitting them

So i want to ask is there any easy way to disable that feature and make it like the vanilla?
I would really appreciate a response even if negative thanks in advance.

Hello Cynfar,
i saw a review you wrote for Europa Barbarorum II and i wanted to tell you how to use melee stance in the old total wars.
When you have selected a unit which still has missles you can tell them to attack using melee weapons by holding alt and then double-clicking on the enemy.
I had the same problem for years before learning about that from a random youtube video.

Well i tried the demo and i am sorry to bring you bad news,but i will.The game runs terribly for me first off the whole sea is a bright pink thing,with no waves no nothing just pink.The create a character menu was baggy for example i clicked the done button(after i customized and named my character) for over a million times because it was not responding at all.About the control of our character i would like to control the camera angle directly or have a first person option,since many times the camera is pointing in the wrong angle.When i reached the ship and started the tutorial i wanted to test the cannons out and despite the hint saying that i could change the angle of fire i didnt see any indicator of it change while pressing the respective buttons,also there were no cannonballs to be found just cannon sounds.At this point i figured that the demo is too buggy for me so i closed it.I didn't write this to criticize you since you are doing this for free i just wanted to give you feedback :)

Hello,
first of all thanks Docm30 and everyone who is involved with this mod, this mode made a lot of people happy since we now have a good Napoleonic period single player experience.This is a work of art!I mean the uniforms are so beautiful and the insane unit variety reflecting the age..just perfect!
I know that it is still at alpha but i have one main grippe with the mod and that is the battles let me explain:
1st my musketeers dont obey orders,as soon as they get at firing distance they stop obeing orders to maneuver which makes some battles really frustrating since i cant do anything resembling tactics
2nd the weapons, they are far too inaccurate.I know they were not too acurate at that age but this coupled with the long distance the ai choses to engage and the fact that they dont move closer as i order them too do,makes the infantry almost useless.They shoot and shoot and shoot and nobody dies if i dont do a bayonet and cavalry charge the shooting whould take hours!I need to be able to control them to go closer where they are accurate.
3rd The armies don't fight in a line as line infantry should.I mean as soon as the army attacking gets to firing range(they cant hit sh!t from so far) they loosen up and destroy the formation making them incredibly easy prey for cav,diffiult to shoot at since they spread out,and for line infantry it just looks wrong.
I dont wont to come of as negative i love the mod but battles in M&B are the most important thing so can i use any tricks or tweaks to remedy any of that?

I recently i found out about Morrowind and got pumped.But for optimal expirence what to play with this mod installed but in the step called "Norrowind code patch" i get a wxPython window saying the following

Thanks after many tries he finally appered and i joined the faction but as a vassal.Cant i join as a soilder a freelancer part of an generarls army as a solder and advance through the ranks?

I can stress how much i thnk you for this mod it is too awesome!
Only one think,the armor looks like it is skin tight field clothes look bulky and natural and i thing that bulky should armour look to.
If i am wrong correct me but dindt they were much padding,so the armor be bulky?

I understand so i was hoping it might be something easy but i see it is more coplicated.
So i shall keenly await any further updates!
Something unrelated whrn i am using the shield and dory overhanded does the shield completely cover the part of the body it is in front of because some hits that should be blocked look like passing threw(but i am not 100% sure)

Hi,i love this mod and great respect on its creator,your hard work and research in order to achive historical accuracy is apparent and awesome so i won't say anything else and go on with my question.
I would like to ask if somehow is possible for me (so you dont waste your time) to add more cities and villages to the map or change to an different map,the map from "The Pelloponesean War mod"(another great mod but for a different period with an really good detailed map) and then manually assign each city to a faction?
I tried to search for tutorials but to no vein.
I want to do that since this is what i believe the weakest part of this otherwise awesome mod.Since i am Greek and really enjoy playing as a hoplite i would love to add more cities to Greece.
So please reply.Thanks for your time!

I am referring to different games so my points are easier to understand.
I personally use spears and javelins and maybe thats why i haven't found any balancing issue.But to armours things are nice (light but fast armour,heavy but slow resilient to hachs but not to blunt etc).I understand that you may think that it should be upon skill who wins but using a strategy to see what type of hits with your weapon are more efficient and so on is part of skill(button massing never was my thing)
Also they said that there would be a persistent character so you will have many combination to go for to find which suite you.The balancing probably will take some time but as long as some different armour types (ashigaru armour or o-yori etc)are unlocked from the beginning and any extra unlock is a minor improvement or a cosmetic improvement and anything has its advantage and disadvantage things will be fair i think.Anyway i trust they will find the best formula!

Well guys as RoyalWatcher said you have earned our dedication with your hard work :)
I really like the armor design,color and customizability!But as a guest said the samurai mustached masks are way too epic to be reserved by the dishonorable,so i think there should be different variants and colors for the honorable and dishonorable like with armor or something like that .Also i trust you and know that you probably wont do the thing with a 5$ for a helmet even thogh we purchased the game(like in chivalry).
I have to say that i personally would prefer armor not to be just cosmetic like RoyalWatcher said but rather in depth like certen armor type which is resilient to swings or another to arrows so everyone would use some interesting tactics rather than constantly swing like most in chivalry do.
Anyway good job guys we hope for the best of this awesome game!

Sounds perfect and all the artwork until now is epic,nice job guys!
You know my preference for "total realism" but as you do you should go for the general public.
The sliceable object part sounds awesome!
I would just like to say some thoughts i had regarding some gameplay mechanics,i don't know about the others but i liked more the way you can keep your weapons ready-"armed" to hit like in mount and blade what i mean is when you press the button to hit but not release it you should be able to pull back your weapon (for example the sword raised high animation) and then release the button and finish the hitting animation,this gives a tactical advantage.For example when you run from someone you could ready your weapon and then turn back and hit him.and there are many more circumstances.Also when you block a hit i think you should break your defence unlike in mount and blade,that way a deflect which is historically much more common would be simulated.
Something else that would be helpful would be quick commands like in red orchestra 2 .That would be especially useful for formations command the same way like in mount and blade for example you have a command for spear wall which other players see and might join.

It is sad how not many people know about this game,i found it out of seer luck (and people like me who love ultra realism are this games target group)i guess it needs more marketing,because this game has to be made it is going to be simply awesome
