I last time I port game to Unity 5, graphic look better, performance too but physic of wheels sucks. So I working on my own wheels physics, with not bad results, works better on tanks. Currently, besides wheels I working on guns, ballistics and armor penetration mechanic.
Yes new version will be 0.5. When? - I'm not sure, I have huge plans about next one, especially about changing physics model to my one, with realistic deformations under load or collision.
Pressure tubes will transmit fuel/water/air/gas from one container to another, or to specific consumer. And power cables will transmit electric power from element which have power to element which need some power.
Interesting game, third person action puzzle solver with neon graphic and mysterious world, with own style in one word.
For now they can be used only for decoration.

This is NGUI (v2.7), in combination with nice font, whole GUI be better.
Wheel can't be normal rotate but set in two directions by option "is Left" in it inspector. Wheels customisation (and other types) will be soon.
In this version I didn't achieve all features which I planned, but I want add another build after two months gap. Next version 4.1 will be probably in next Sunday, with few fixes and new element.

In current version isn't needed to connect combustion engine to fuel tank or electric engine to batteries. But to give torque to wheels for moving from place, you must switch to editor mode to "Torque" (menu on right right), next select engine, add "transmission" element, hold LShift and select wheel, finally press [1] to connect wheel with new crated transmission.
I must change this mechanism to be more easier to use, but still with specialized connectors.

I want to make working of joints and pistons (maybe also guns) dependent on amount of energy, but combustion engine will also produce energy when is running.
Now fuel tank give displacement on water, but it isn't best idea, I will add new element - float, much lighter thank tank with grater displacement power. Also water and air propeller will be different.
Btw. I want add few new element (rope, magnetic connector, chain connector, anti-gravity generator, ladders, doors) and remove some old (generator, electric engine, parachute)
No, now suppression is automatic add to any wheels, it works (and looks) better than wheel+piston from current version, engine and tank just have new graphics (fan on engine can rotate).
No game isn't dead, I'm working on new editor, it based on "rotating plates". This concept allow to create almost any shape and building is fast and easy like putting blocks in minecrtaft's like game but without blocks. I add video from prototype soon.

It's your vehicle, you can do with it anything you want.
Multiplayer have many bugs, but bug with characters cloning should be fixed, for now multi is for testing only.
Currently I working on completely new physics with advance destructions, each element will be have limited durability, chassis can be bonded after impact, etc
Something like destructions in BeamNG, but simpler.

To remove bars/plates first you must select it by clicking on it middle and next press Q/Delete key to remove it.
Thanks :) Its not difficult to create four or more leg robot, but vehicle with two legs or two wells need gyroscopes. AT-AT was very slow and it can't turn. But check one of many creations from russian community Youtube.com or Youtube.com
They can rotate whole vehicles by WSAD+QE keys or/and stabilize it by creating opposite force to vehicle rotation.
Thruster can do same thing but for vehicle movement.
Open GaV-v0.2.7win.zip in 7-zip or WinRar, select GaV-v0.2.7win folder and select "Extract all", next select folder to unpack and run game from .exe in folder with you previous choose.
I can add none limit-sandbox mode. True survival gameplay will be not so fast, but in one of next updated I add modules for digging, containers, pumps and tubes for transfer materials.
In aspect of technological progress I want make something similar to progress in Tekkit, especially pipes and automatic resources processing. So build a base to taking researches, storage and convert resources will be very important also base can be have self defence systems (AI turrets).
