sure the game is compatible with a 360 controller or the keyboard you can choose (but no mouse)!
For the best gameplay experience I personally suggest to use the 360 controller :)

and yes the berries for now have no purpose, in the next updates I want to add new levels based on the berries collected. You can see the approximately the number collected by the size increasing of the bag, but surely with a gui it could be better.. (I love banjo and kazooie too :D)
